A season to remember for Izzy Young 💫

Young really made her mark during her debut season at Spartans on loan from Hearts🤝

Being recognised as player of the match on multiple occasions alongside being nominated for the SWPL2 Player of the Month award in February and securing the prize in May🏆

With several namings in the SWPL Team of The Week in November, February and May alongside a feature in the Team of the Entire SWPL Season. Each naming contributed to her call ups to international duty in the Scotland U19s throughout the season📣

Finally, her 14 goals scored including a hat-trick against Stirling University in December placed her within the top 5 within the SWPL2🚀

⏮️ As the 25/26 season comes to an end we have taken some time to rewind on some of our favourite moments from the past season.

🚀January saw Ronaigh Douglas become the most capped women’s player in Spartans history taking the armband vs St Johnstone and scoring the winning goal. On top of that, her performances also earned her a naming in the SWPL TOTW. As well as Ava Crawford being called up to the Scotland U17s.

💥 February was when your skipper Robyn McCafferty reached 200 appearances. With Izzy Young gaining two naming in the SWPL TOTW and Hannah Cunningham also earning one for outstanding performances. Izzy Young also well deservingly received a nomination for the SWPL2 February Player of the Month and Ava Crawford was once again named in the Scotland U17s squad.

🏆 March was the month our post split series began with Ronaigh Douglas being named in the TOTW and another Tartan Spartan called up for international duty but this time it was Izzy Young for the U19s. Finally Natalie Bandura’s hat-trick vs Queen’s Park earned her the star player award in TOTW as well as nominated and voted to be the SWPL2 Player of the the Month for the second time this season.

💯 April the team continued their post split fixtures with multiple naming in TOTW by Robyn McCafferty and Sarah Clelland both earning them nominations for the SWPL2 Player of the Month Award for April. Eilidh Davies and CaCee McKenna each reached their 50th cap and Chloe Hutchison was voted to receive SWPL2 Goal of the Month for her strike against Gartcairn. Finally, your skipper’s hard work paid off as she was awarded SWPL2 April Player of the Month voted by other clubs.

🎉 May marked the final month of the season with more achievements from this outstanding team most importantly securing the club’s 1st ever league title on a 13 unbeaten run. Multiple naming in TOTW were awarded to Emily Cadell who secured the star badge award alongside Robyn McCafferty and Izzy Young also gaining recognition. Finally club legend Sarah Clelland reached 250 appearances as she completes her 10th season.
