More than just Jiu-Jitsu 👊

Our kids classes are about learning real skills, building confidence, getting active and being part of a team - but we make sure there’s plenty of fun along the way.

A little bit of competitive tug-of-war to finish last weeks class 😁

New kids are always welcome to come along and give Little Focus a try.

Jiu-Jitsu is for girls too 🥋

We’d love to see more girls on the mats at Focus BJJ.

Our kids learn real Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - takedowns, positions, escapes, submissions and self defence - while building confidence, learning new skills and having fun along the way.

You don’t need to be “sporty” or have any martial arts experience. Just come along and give it a try.

Got a daughter who might enjoy BJJ? Come along for a trial class.

Wondering what an adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class looks like? 🥋

We warm up. We learn techniques. We drill. We put them into practice.

No experience needed, and you definitely don’t have to “get fit first”. You get fit doing 👊

All you need to do is turn up, and we’ll take care of the rest.

So what actually happens in a Focus BJJ kids class? 🥋

There’s a lot more to it than just rolling around on the mats!

Last week we worked on takedowns, arm bars and attacking the turtle position - then have the kids the chance to put their skills into practice.

And, obviously, no class would be complete without settling the extremely important matter of who is the current Focus BJJ Sprawl Champ which went to Joshua 🏆

We try to get the balance right: proper Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, lots of movement, plenty of challenges, and most importantly, lots of smiley faces 😊

Huge congratulations to Paul on earning his first stripe on his white belt tonight 👊

Hard work. Consistent mat time. Zero shortcuts.
Coach Bryan and Colin don’t hand these out unless they’re earned — and Paul showed exactly why he deserved it.

Keep turning up. Keep learning. First stripe down… plenty more to chase.
