Shinty is a mixed gender sport, Gaelic in origin and the ancestor of Golf and Hockey. We train in Falmouth and have a lively social side.

Get in touch or pop along to a training session Wednesdays 6-8pm, and Sundays 2-4pm at Dracaena centre (upper pitch).

Team sheets for our first match of the English Shinty League season at home against Durham Shinty Club on Saturday, 2pm start. Looking forward to a great game and fun night out afterwards! Starting at 5.30pm Jacobs Ladder the sister pub to our generous summer tour sponsors The Old Inn, massive thank you to them for sponsoring us! Where Sianti Mor will be performing. We will also be heading to our amazing sponsor Finn Mcouls as well on Saturday.

Our first league match for the ESL summer season is against on Saturday 13th June. 2pm start at the top pitch of the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth (TR11 2ES). Heading into Falmouth for a fun night at the Shanty Festival afterwards!

We are looking forward to a great game, hopefully see lots of you out, as always feel free to come a long and watch!

Bristol Sixes! A couple of weeks ago we attended Bristol Sixes with our 2 Cornwall teams - with one of them coming 3rd overall behind strong teams from and . We had some competitive matches against and as well! A wonderful day for shinty in the sun!

We are looking forward to our next English Shinty League match on the 13th June at home against Durham.

In the meantime we have training twice a week at the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth 6-8pm on Wednesdays and 2-4pm on Sundays. We welcome new players at any time and no experience is needed, so feel free to come along to our friendly and inclusive club. Drop us a message if you have anymore questions :)

This afternoon we had Town V Gown. We played 9 a side with the townies winning 6-1. Well done to all the players and thank you everyone for coming.

Well done to for getting top women’s goal scorer! And to for getting top men’s goal scorer, this season.

On Saturday we attended Bristol 6s tournament to kick of the ESA summer league. Overall in the tournament one of our teams came 3rd behind 2 very strong teams from Bristol and London. With our other coming 5th behind Durham.
We all had an amazing time and all played great, we are looking forward to the rest of the season with our next match at home against Durham on the 13th June.

But this weekend we take a break and have our Town V Gown game at the Channel 4 pitch in Falmouth, hopefully this will be a 12 match so would love as many people to come along as possible!

In 2 weeks time on Sunday 3rd May we have Town v Gown where the current students play against local players. We will be at the Channel 4 Pitch in Falmouth (TR11 4LH) 2-4pm, hopefully see lots of people there!

Feel free to come along and watch :)

After the match we hope to head to Gylly beach for a social but this is weather dependent, if not we will head to Finns!

Next weekend (Sunday 19th April) we will be running our first taster session of the year! At the Dracaena Centre in Falmouth 2-4pm. This will likely be followed by a social to pub (or beach if the weather is nice!)

No experience is needed and all abilities are welcome to join! All the kit that you will need is provided! Hope to see lots of people there :)

Training is back on as usual Wednesday’s 6-8pm and Sunday’s 2-4pm if you can’t make the taster session feel free to come along to a training session!

Over the Easter weekend some of our members joined with to play in 2 cup matches as well as in St Andrews Sixes where Cornwall came second to Poland (ahead of England and Fife) in the 4 nations.
Congratulations to the ladies team for their 3-2 win against in the first round of The Challenge Cup. With one of the fastest goals by ESA in a Scottish match by and a cracking goal from and with Rowan Hopkins getting our winning goal!
The men unfortunately didn’t share the winning success, they lost to 7-2. But they all played amazingly!

Thank you to all those who planned Easter tour, we are looking forward to our next trip up to Scotland in the coming months!

Slightly belated Christmas post!
These are the results of the awards given out at our Christmas dinner last month - thank you to all the business which sponsored each award.
