๐ถโโ๏ธNational Day of Movement 2026 - Together We Move๐ถโโ๏ธ
Movement is something worth celebrating. It's not about what you should do, it's about finding ways to move that you enjoy and that work for you.
While we know that regular physical activity can bring many benefits for our health and wellbeing, today isn't about targets, goals, or recommendations.
Today is about celebrating movement in all its forms. Whether it's 5 minutes or 50 minutes, a walk in the park, dancing in your living room, gardening, swimming, wheeling, stretching or simply getting out and about, every movement counts.
Join us in recognising and celebrating the many ways our communities across Glasgow move every day.

โญ Unsung Hero Award 2026 โ Elaine McMahon โญ
A huge congratulations to Elaine McMahon from Community Tai Chi Scotland on receiving our Unsung Hero Award 2026! ๐
When funding for their online tai chi classes ran out after COVID, Elaine stepped up to ensure they could continue. She founded Community Tai Chi Scotland, helped secure funding and worked tirelessly to support a group made up largely of housebound and older adults who rely on these classes for movement, connection and wellbeing.
Thanks to Elaine and her team, the group has grown to over 100 registered members, with 30โ40 people attending weekly online sessions. They continue to welcome new members, provide technical support and work towards making the project fully self-sustaining.
What makes Elaine's achievement even more remarkable is that she has continued this work while facing significant personal challenges herself, she remains dedicated to supporting the community she helped build.
Elaine says tai chi keeps her going, but many of the club would say itโs Elaine who keeps them going. โค๏ธ
A truly deserving winner and an inspiration to us all. Congratulations, Elaine! ๐
