There are very few people whose contribution to a rugby club spans so many years, so many roles and so many memories. Rob Stokes is one of those people.

Following 18 years of dedicated service as Club Treasurer, Rob has decided to step down from the role. While this marks the end of an incredible chapter, it also gives us the opportunity to recognise and thank someone who has given so much to Old Cryptians RFC.

For nearly two decades, Rob has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, often without recognition, ensuring the club remained financially secure and well managed. His commitment, professionalism and countless hours of voluntary service have helped shape the club we are today. The role of Treasurer is one of the most important within any club, and Rob has carried it out with unwavering dedication.

His contribution doesn't end there.

As a player, Rob has proudly represented Old Cryptians with distinction, making an outstanding: 🏉 380 First XV appearances 🏉 15 Second XV appearances 🏉 75 Third XV appearances

A remarkable 470 senior appearances in the maroon and gold speaks volumes about his loyalty, resilience and passion for the club. Few can match that level of commitment, both on and off the field.

Rob represents everything that is great about grassroots rugby. He has always put the club first, led by example and quietly gone about making a difference without ever seeking the spotlight. His dedication has helped ensure that Old Cryptians remains a place where players, families and supporters can come together and be proud to call it their club.

On behalf of everyone at Old Cryptians RFC—past and present—thank you, Rob. Your service, friendship and unwavering commitment have left a lasting legacy, and the entire club is better because of everything you have given.
