It's the end of September, so it's time to go wake up Billie Joe Armstrong. (If you know, you know!)

Because we are now going into the colder and wetter running season, you can often wonder what is the best shoe to run a mix of road and trail, or perhaps you're not entirely sure what Parkrun shoe to pack when doing a bit of tourism.

That's why the Ghost Trail shoe is back in stock. It made a huge impression at the end of last year, when Brooks launched the shoe and did many a demo of it across the UK at various Parkrun destinations, including Thorp Perrow parkrun - an amazing destination near Bedale which I can certainly recommend!

This is a perfect step-in to the world of trail running for anyone who considers themselves strictly road.

Be warned though - you might just fall in love with the trails and woodlands!

We are all guilty of it.

Our mate who runs fast has the latest speed shoe and ran a PB.

We're bound to be curious.

We're going to want to try it out.

But how many of us think about how WE will run that shoe?

The runner who subbed 3 hours for the marathon for the first time is going to turn heads at the club, or that person who comes first at the local parkrun has a carbon shoe that you're desperate to try.

There's no shame in it, and no harm in trying out a shoe for yourself.

Just remember you run, how YOU run.

Get a gait test; have a conversation with any team member at an Up and Running store. You'll always get free and impartial advice.
