The Starlight Company Dance, performance & fitness Founded by Kim Owen, Becks White and Vicky Lightowler in 2010 & Laura Lowe joined the founding members in 2013.

The Starlight Company offers a fusion of regular dance-based fitness classes for children and adults from Zumba® to Performing Arts in and around Herefordshire as well as specialist weekend and holiday workshops and we can also be hired out for birthday parties, choreography assistance for school/college performances from fetes & proms to stage productions. Judith Milner and Ashleigh Marie Nicholls became instructors in 2018 to add a range of great classes and expertise. We are all Herefordian professional Dance/Fitness Instructors involved within the community in various shapes and forms through business, enterprise, performance, fitness & education. We all have a great passion for what we do. We have lived & breathed dance, performance & fitness since young ages. And so Starlight was borne – we want to share our love with everyone no matter what age or sex because of the great benefits moving and shaking can bring to all aspects of life! 🩰✨ STILLNESS IN THE MOVEMENT✨🩰

The music softens. The room becomes still. Arms begin to float and, for a few beautiful moments, everyone is completely lost in the movement. ❤️

This is one of my favourite moments to watch in our Silver Swans class…

Port de bras — “carriage of the arms.”

There’s something so calming about seeing everyone move together — breathing, listening, feeling the music and allowing the arms to flow. They make it look effortless. Graceful. Beautiful. 💫

But behind that softness we’re working on so much — posture, coordination, mobility, balance, strength and musicality. And perhaps most importantly, giving ourselves time to simply move and be present.

Our Royal Academy of Dance Silver Swans Ballet classes are welcoming, joyful and designed especially for older adult learners. No previous ballet experience required — just come as you are. 🦢

A little trip to PINEAPPLE today to put myself back on the other side of the room and take a ballet class. ❤️

Time to learn. Time to be inspired. Time to move just for me. Time to give my brain a little space to wander and create.
Because however long you’ve been teaching, there is ALWAYS more to learn — and sometimes the best thing you can do for your own students is to become a student again. ✨

Came away with tired legs, a clearer head and plenty of inspiration. 🩰💫

Always learning. Always creating. Always dancing. ⭐️

🍂 WELCOME OCTOBER • WELCOME CHANGE🍂

There’s something rather lovely about this time of year. The light begins to soften, the leaves start to turn, and nature quietly reminds us that change can be beautiful.🍁✨

As we watch the season shift around us, perhaps October can be a little reminder to notice where we could welcome a small change of our own.

Nothing huge. Nothing overwhelming.
Just a tiny shift in how we move through our day. 🌿

Busy day at work?
Before rushing straight into the jobs at home, sit down for one minute. Breathe. Arrive.

Stuck in traffic?
Instead of fighting the frustration, take a breath. Look out of the window. Watch a leaf fall.🍂

Rushing from one thing to the next?
Pause. Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Take one slow breath.

We can’t always change what’s happening around us — but we can create little pockets of space within it. 🤎

Just like autumn, perhaps we can learn to welcome change rather than resist it.

Working together to create a dynamic finishing position — sharing ideas, getting creative, trying things out (and trying again!) until the levels, arms, legs and oppositions all come together and… ✨ SHINE! ✨
