Rise & Drive… The Lineout & Maul

The final session in our Inside the XV series brings together one of rugby’s most technical and powerful areas of the game – the lineout and maul.

This week’s session will be led by our previous guest coaches, bringing together a wealth of experience from across the forward pack. Having already shared their expertise throughout the series, they’ll combine their knowledge to deliver a specialist session on one of rugby’s most effective attacking and defensive weapons.

Designed for forwards of all ages and abilities, this session will focus on the fundamentals of lifting, jumping, timing, communication, and lineout movement, before progressing into maul formation, body position, driving technique, and how to work as one cohesive unit.

Whether you’re a seasoned forward looking to refine your craft or a player wanting to better understand the set piece, this is the perfect opportunity to learn the finer details that can make the difference on match day.

Full Flight… The Back Three

The next session in our Inside the XV series heads to the back field, focusing on the pace, positioning, and game awareness needed to excel in the back three.

This week’s session will be led by Roo, a home-grown player who has progressed through the club’s ranks and competed at Regional 1 level. Having developed his game through every stage of the club, Roo brings first-hand experience of what it takes to become a reliable and dangerous winger or full back.

Designed for aspiring wingers and full backs, this session will cover the core skills required to thrive in the back three. Players will work on positioning, counter-attacking, support lines, kick returns, aerial skills, finishing opportunities, and making smart decisions under pressure.

Whether you’re looking to sharpen your attacking instincts or become more confident under the high ball, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from a player who has lived the journey through the club.
