We’re excited to announce the development of a new dedicated Short Game Practice Area at Kemnay Golf Club. ⛳

Work is now underway on the old 18th fairway, where we’re creating three new practice greens alongside the large original 18th green.

Together, these will provide a fantastic new area for members to work on all aspects of their short game, including pitching, chipping, bunker play and those all-important touch shots around the green.

A huge thank you must go to our member Mike Mackay, who has very kindly volunteered his time, skills and expertise to help construct and shape the new short game area. His support is greatly appreciated and will play a big part in bringing the project to life.

We’ll keep everyone updated as the work progresses — we’re really looking forward to seeing this area take shape! 🌱🏌️‍♂️

🌱 PHIL’S TURF TALK ⛳

It’s been a busy couple of days for Phil and the greenkeeping team, with some important maintenance work taking place on the greens.

The greens have been scarified to a depth of 6mm in two different directions, helping to remove excess thatch and improve the health of the turf.

This was followed by Verti-Draining to a depth of 225mm, which helps relieve compaction, improves drainage and allows more air into the soil and root zone.

The plan was to complete the work with a top dressing today, but unfortunately the wet weather has put that on hold.

Hopefully conditions improve tomorrow and the team can get the top dressing applied to finish the process.

A little short-term disruption, but all important work in helping us maintain healthy, firm and consistent greens. 🌱⛳

Thanks as always to Phil and the team for their work.
