We’ve been “Punk’d”, Steampunk’d that is! Quick remind to everyone that this weekend we will be up at Filey for the hosting the strongman and Tug o War competitions, that means unfortunately that there will be a few items of equipment missing from the gym from Friday afternoon until Sunday night. Apologies for the inconvenience this will cause and I appreciate your patience and understanding in this.
Kit that will be missing will include but not limited too the Tackyless Stones and Barrel, Sandbags, axles and apollon wheels. We will still have plenty of kit remaining as always for you to play with however. Obviously your all still more then welcome to join us and any last minute heroes that want to step into the competition please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Pleased to announce that not only will we be hosting in the gym from the beginning of June but they are also coming on board to provide support and care at our upcoming comps to you all!?! Both the Strongman Competition and Hulls Strongest 2026 will feature their services to help soothe any aches and pains between events. Not only that but they are also coming providing treatment services as prizes so some of you will be able to further benefit from their skills!

Friday 15th May
7.30 - 9.30pm Quiz Night with Ellie Etoile’s Burlesque - Belle Vue Pub. Fantastic prizes to be won courtesy of the gorgeous Isadora Phoenix. Prize pictures in comments. Who’s joining us? Test your knowledge across a wide range of topics while picking up new facts along the way. Come and have a giggle (and maybe a wiggle) with the gang from Ellie Etoile’s Burlesque!

Saturday 16th May
9am - 1.30pm Tank Rides On The Beach - £10pp, no booking required - bottom of Cargate Hill, Filey. Minimum height 1.2m.

10am - 4pm Shopping & Steampunk Market - back of the Evron Centre (inside and outside stalls).

10am - 2pm Strongman & Strongwoman Competitions (winner to be announced at 3pm) - Filey Bandstand, back of the Evron Centre & Crescent Gardens. £25 entry (includes competition t-shirt). Prize £2000 to be split between the male and female winners. Members of the public will also be able to try the events with winners awarded a Hull’s Strongest goody bag. Please see separate post dedicated to this for all the details.

10am - 2pm Children’s Treasure Hunt – collect forms from Isadora Phoenix & Bondi Rose – front of the Evron Centre. Prize for each child.

11am – 11.45am Ravens Morris (dance) - paved area above the café in front of the bandstand.

11.45am – 12pm Isadora Phoenix Fire Show - Crescent Gardens.

1pm – 1.45pm Ravens Morris (music) - paved area above the café in front of the bandstand.

2pm Ramshackle Shantymen - back of the Evron Centre.

2.15pm – 3pm Ravens Morris (dance) - paved area above the café in front of the bandstand.

3pm Steam Engine & Parade. Meet at the side of the Evron Centre. Dress in all your Steampunk finery and choo choo your way to the bandstand with us.

4pm – 4.15pm Isadora Phoenix Fire Show - Crescent Gardens.

Pleased to be able to announce that we will again be acting as a Qualifier for Yorkshires Strongest Man and Woman 2026! The Winners of Hulls Strongest U105/Open Men and U80/Open Women will all receive an invite to battle it out for the title of Yorkshires Strongest Man and Woman. This is a highly coveted title that draws a high degree of athlete and will be a hard fought accolade. The team have done an amazing job of making this a great competition in an amazing location that draws a huge crowd so is definitely an experience not to be missed. Hulls Strongest 2026 Deadlift weights are up and I hope to have the Overhead medley weights this weekend. Car squat is proving tricky to accurately represent the weight but I’ll have it with you asap so keep an eye out. In the meantime if you want to be in with a chance head over to the event page and get your entry in!

We are back! Ready to start 2026 the right way. If you been inspired watching WSM over Christmas but haven’t a clue where to start this is ideal for you, if you want to refine those skills going into comp season for 2026 this is for you, if you want an opportunity to learn from a world class masters athlete and some chancer who keep making weird events? This is for you! Come join myself and Nikki starting January 13th at 7pm for 8 weeks as we run through events and pass on as much knowledge and experience as you can soak up. These sessions have been a great resource in the past and given many people their first start in Strongman/woman. Course can be booked either through the online shop within the app or contacting me directly. Spaces are limited so don’t delay as these workshops rapidly fill up.
