This week I was at the Astral Manifesting Magic Retreat in Suffolk with Hannah Green, delivering a session on something I'm deeply passionate about:
Using water, breath, grounding, and nervous system management to control your state and transform your life.
What we explored:
💜 Breathing = nervous system regulation (cold water shock, panic, overwhelm)
💜 Grounding techniques = anchoring yourself in the present moment, using the power and ENERGY of the water
💜 Finding your float = learning to trust water, trust yourself, trust life
💜 Cold water shock = how your body responds and how to manage it
National Drowning Prevention Week context:
Black and Asian women are 2x more likely to drown than white women.
Black and Asian men are 3x more likely to drown than white men.
Not because they can't swim.
Because they haven't had safe, welcoming spaces to learn.
This weekend with this incredible group of women, we talked about:
Why representation in water sports matters neurologically
How to find your individual float (not everyone floats the same way)
Why nervous system regulation is life-saving, not just feel-good
The statistics, the barriers, and what real access looks like
The real transformation:
When you master your nervous system in water, you master it everywhere.
When you learn to breathe through cold water shock, you can breathe through any panic.
When you find your float, you find your trust.
And that changes everything. 💜

You didn't just learn techniques. You learned that your nervous system is trainable. That you're stronger than your fear. That you belong in water.
