Wednesday track session!
6.30 Leicester cycle circuit
It’s the last one of the season! 💔
We have thoroughly enjoyed hosting you all and training with you for some very intense, very cold, very dark and one very sunny session.
This week is our last session we will be putting on a fun session (secret games! ⚾️)
You are also more than welcome to run your own session as the track will be there and free to use should you not want to play.
Thank you so much for coming along, supporting us and bringing great spirits each and every week (no matter the weather!)
From next week (23.04) we will be moving our sessions to bradgate park if you would like to try our club sessions please send me a message and we can provide more details. Also message us if you are interested in signing up to our magnificent club!
Track will forever be in our hearts (until October when we’re back again) but for now it’s ciao and time for some hills 😢
Up the BRC 💪🏼💚

The penultimate session
The moment you’ve all been waiting for …..
5k time trials!
The session will consist of different start times, flags will be set up to determine distance (it’s slightly over 5 laps)
Come with your positive attitude and determination! (And have a general idea of your 5k time)
(Bring water it’s supposed to be a hot one!)
We will see you tomorrow! 💚💚

Yes that is daylight, and yes unfortunately that is what we all look like. This week we did descending efforts at 5k pace of 5 mins each, which you definitely would have been feeling by the end of the session.
We have two more weeks left at the Cycle Circuit before we move back to Bradgate Park. If you're interested in running with us over the summer we will be meeting at Newtown Linford Car Park on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:45pm (starting April 20th). Get in touch to find out more.

Track session
Wednesday 6.30 at Leicester Cycle circuit
(Note the last track session will be on 15.04)
(Writers edit - joy will explain this tomorrow because it’s complicated and I don’t get it 😂)
Running at 5k pace but each pace decreases by seconds per mile (get it? No? Cool!)
5 minutes at 5k pace (35 seconds less)
60-90 second recover
5 minutes at 5k pace (30 seconds less)
60-90 second recover
5 minutes at 5k pace (25 seconds less)
60-90 second recover
5 minutes at 5k pace (20 seconds less)
Edit 2.0
If your 5k pace is 8.30 min/mile
1st 5 min at 7.55 min/mile
2nd 5 min at 8.00 min/mile
3rd 5 min at 8.05 min/mile
4th 5 min 8.10 min/mile
(Hope this helps!) 💚
See you tomorrow for a hopefully less windy less rainy and fingers crossed for a sunny session! 💚💚

Well done to anyone who had money on our coldest session of the season being at the end of March. Those that braved this evening tried their hand at 5 x 1k at 5k-10k pace with 2 minute recoveries.
We've got three weeks left of free sessions at Leicester Cycle Circuit. 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening.

Wednesday track session
Leicester Cycle circuit - 6.30pm
Free too all that want to come along
This week’s session
5x1000m (1k for those that struggle with maths like me 😂) at 5k pace
2 minutes recovery between each lap (walking or jogging)
This session should feel tough and you should be keeping the same pace for every lap
🤞🏼the rain stops!
See you tomorrow 💚💚

Ashby 20 2026. Some great breakthrough performances alongside some having to dig real deep while in the trenches for Team Green this weekend. Well done to everyone who ran.
Thanks to Ivanhoe Runners again as organisers.
