It’s amazing what you can find in Leicester’s waterways!🚤

During a recent weekly Kingfisher session, the team managed to fish out an entire air conditioning unit from the water!

A huge thank you to the Sustainability and Energy Team for coming aboard and helping us with our waterway clean-up efforts. 🌿

You never quite know what you’re going to pull out next! 👀

LEV recently tackled an overgrown section of the Willow Brook, where vegetation had been restricting access.

With the area now cleared, this section can be added to our monthly Willow Brook litter-picking schedule, helping to tackle litter before it reaches the main canal network. ♻

A huge thank you to Parks staff and volunteers for carrying out the work and City Highways and Cleansing for helping organise and arrange collection of the vegetation. 💪

LEV have been busy at Victoria Park Nature Area, crown-lifting the large central spinney and removing blackthorn suckers along the western edge.

This work will help to open up the space, allowing more light through and encouraging a greater variety of wildflowers, insects and other wildlife. 🦋🌱

A big thank you to all who got involved!👏
