Have you been thinking of growing food for a while but it felt too daunting starting a new hobby without prior experience?
It is easier when you are sharing land with others who have been growing produce for years. They will help and support you.
At the Featherstone Drive Community Orchard in Eyres Monsell, there is a large established community plot and they are currently reaching out for new members. It is free to join and they share the food that they grow. No prior experience is needed.
Interested? They would love to meet you. You may be able to make a start next week.
Please email [email protected] to register your interest and arrange to visit the site.

LEV were recently out at Ocean Road Open Space helping to improve access and tidy up around the pond area. Volunteers cleared encroaching vegetation from the steps and boardwalk and removed weeds growing through the steps. 🌱
One of the steps also needed some further attention, moving it slightly forward to help prevent silt build up.👷♂️
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved! 👏

Operation clear the Willow Brook continues!🗑️♻
The Willow Brook is a major source of litter pollution entering the River Soar and Grand Union Canal, so monthly litter picks are taking place along different sections of the brook to help stop rubbish reaching our waterways. 🌊
In just one session, LEV removed an incredible 51 bags of litter and 90 large items. 👏
If you’d like to get involved, keep an eye out for upcoming sessions on Assemble!
A massive thank you to everyone who came along and helped make a difference 🦆
