Last weekend, some of our amazing dancers had the opportunity to perform at the Lichfield Fuse Festival, proudly representing SDA in our local community! 💙✨

With dancers from lots of different classes coming together, it definitely wasn’t the easiest show to organise or rehearse, but we pulled together, winged it, and put on a fantastic performance for such a lovely, supportive crowd! We’re so proud of every single dancer who stepped onto that stage with confidence, energy, and big smiles. 🌟

A huge thank you to all of our dancers for your hard work and enthusiasm, to our wonderful teachers and helpers for making it all happen, and to everyone who came along to watch and cheer us on. Your support means the world to us! 💙

As our competition programme continues to grow, I am so excited to announce that from September we will be introducing a Junior Competition Squad, alongside recruiting additional dancers for our existing Intermediate Competition Team.

This is an exciting next step for the school, and I can’t wait to continue building two strong, supportive teams.

Recommended Additional Training

To help our intermediate competition dancers become as versatile and competitive as possible, I strongly recommend attending as many dance genres as possible, including:

⭐ Contemporary
⭐ Jazz
⭐ Acro
⭐ Gymnastics & Tumbling

These styles are regularly incorporated into our solo and troupe choreography and are invaluable in developing strong, confident and well-rounded performers.

💜 Competition Class Fees

I understand that dance is an expensive hobby, so I want to keep competition training as affordable as possible and encourage as many dancers as possible to get involved.

✨ Competition Team Training – £3 per class
✨ Body Conditioning & Stretching – £2 per class

Competition packages will also be available each term for competition dancers.

If you pay via our monthly subscription, both compulsory competition classes will be included at no extra cost.

💜 Intermediate Summer Workshops

For dancers already in our Intermediate Competition Team, as well as those wishing to join us from September, we will be holding a series of summer workshops.

These workshops will act as both training sessions and an opportunity for dancers to demonstrate whether they are ready for competition level.

Throughout the workshops we will:
✨ Teach new troupe choreography.
✨ Develop performance quality and technique.
✨ Observe dancers’ enthusiasm, commitment and attitude.
✨ See how dancers work as part of a team.
✨ Assess their readiness for our competition team.

If your child would like to be considered for either competition team, please let me know as soon as possible.

Having an idea of numbers early will really help me finalise the September timetable and organise classes for all of our dancers and families.

We are so proud of how brilliantly they performed in the heat — they showed such confidence, energy, and passion while representing our dance school so wonderfully. 💃🕺

A huge well done to every student who took part. You were all fantastic and did us proud! ❤️ It was also lovely to meet so many new families and share what we do. We’re looking forward to welcoming some of the children we met at the fair who are coming along to try out our classes in September — we can’t wait to meet you all! ✨
