Sefton 2XI moved into the Chester Cup semi-finals with victory over Birkenhead Park this afternoon. Rob Supria blasted 84 from 61 balls and skipper Tom Rushton 82 as Sefton racked up 274-7 from their 40 overs. Park needed a good start if they were going to get close and Ronan Brady took 5-31 to prevent that - reducing the visitors to 53-5. Ultimately, Birkenhead were bowled out for 158 in the 29th over.

Sefton Women's Lancashire Cup tie seemed to be heading for a quick finish as they were 14-4 in the fourth over; even with Sarah Jackson's 25 their 76 all out seemed far too low to be competitive. An excellent effort in the field made a real game of it, however; Eleanor Cantwell took 3-13 and Edgworth were 23-5 but Alex Ross scored 26* as they squeaked home by 3 wickets.

Sefton U13 are into the semi-finals of the Lancashire rounds of their national knockout after a good win at Orrell Red Triangle. Jacob Patterson-Stevenson took 2-6 and Rai Salik Ahmad 2-9 as the hosts were bowled out for bowled out for 68. Rai Haris Ahmad scored an unbeaten 33 as Sefton won by seven wickets.

Both Sunday sides lost - the AWXI were bowled out for 128 at Liverpool, despite Zainullah Gul's 46, and lost by 9 wickets whilst the RBXI could only make 142 on the lower ground (Chris Mitchell 49) and lost by 5 wickets to Mossley Hill, though Jack Hoban's 3-30 had them at 39-4 at one point.

Sefton closed on 201-6 in response to Colwyn Bay's 217-8d as today's game at Croxteth Drive ended in a draw. Tom Spilsbury took three quick wickets to reduce the visitors to 101-5 but Matt Russell hit five sixes to take the Bay to a declaration from 55 overs. Sefton left themselves a bit too much to do in the last hour despite Paul Horton's 51.

Chris Bellis scored an unbeaten 105, putting on 72 for tte first wicket with Luke Connolly (32) and 88 for the third with Tom Rushton (42) as Sefton 2XI posted 215-5 from 45 overs at Colwyn Bay. Ronan Brady took 3-38 but the hosts were in a decent position at 149-6 but a run out triggered four wickets in 21 balls; Bellis clinching victory by 50 runs.

An excellent bowling performance by Sefton 3XI to dismiss Ormskirk for 100 on the lower ground. James Orme took 4-24, Dan Cuthbert 3-6 and Mark Boyns 2-29. Tom Wilkinson (34*) and Jack Sawbridge (21*) saw Sefton home for a 7 wicket win after James Whitaker's 26.

Defeat for Sefton 4XI at Maghull. Adrian O'Hara took 4-35 and Jamie Bowman 3-42 as the hosts scored 148 - but no Sefton batter could make twenty as the 4s were bowled out for 105.
