The West Lancashire Golf Club was founded in 1873 and is among the ten oldest golf clubs in England.
It boasts one of the most natural and testing links in the British Isles, of which Donald Steel wrote "Only in Britain can one savour the true flavour of seaside golf, of which West Lancashire is a perfect example"

Thanks to the strength of our other par 3s, the 17th rarely gets the plaudits it deserves.
It's a fine hole in its own right and marks the end of the scoring opportunities on the links. A par here is a job well done.

A massive thank you to all the golfers who visited our links over the last week. The feedback on the course has been amazing, and it's been brilliant hearing it from every corner of the world.

From The Amateur to Final Qualifying, it has already been quite a summer for the club. This week, our members have continued to play their part by volunteering as marshals on the 8th hole at The Open.
A huge thank you to everyone who has given up their time. After supporting The R&A twice already this summer, helping out at the greatest championship of them all felt like the perfect way to complete the hat-trick.
Local lad Matty Jordan from Royal Liverpool Golf Club tees it up at Royal Birkdale tomorrow after qualifying in style at West Lancs.
He has a terrific record on links golf in this part of the world, and we cannot wait to see how he gets on.
