St. Peter’s 5-12 v 6-23 John Mitchels

John Mitchels recovered from 4-07 to 2-10 down at half time, to play great stuff in the second half. James McDade registered 1-10 and Micheal Ferris wasn’t far behind him with 2-06. Mo Devlin, Oisin McCaughey and Christy Troupe on his debut, got three more goals, whilst young up and coming underage star, Tomas Russell got the other. Good to see Paddy Murphy back playing for the club tonight. A great servant and a fantastic clubman.

The countdown is on for a very special weekend for our young players of Liverpool John Mitchels GAA Club.

In just 10 days, our Under-12 boys and girls will travel to Dublin to take part in games at before experiencing something truly unforgettable – playing at half-time during an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship quarter-final at Croke Park. 🏟️

This is a fantastic opportunity for our young players to represent Liverpool John Mitchels, their families, and the wider Liverpool Irish community on one of the biggest stages in Gaelic Games.

The excitement is already building, and we know the memories made over the weekend will stay with the children for years to come.

A huge thank you to all our coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters, and sponsors whose efforts have helped make this trip possible. Your support continues to create incredible opportunities for our young players.

What a fantastic weekend for our club at the Northern Games, with all 12 teams representing the club with pride, determination, and great sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Across all age groups, our players showcased excellent teamwork, skill, commitment, and a positive attitude both on and off the pitch. It was wonderful to see the hard work put in at training throughout the year reflected in their performances over the weekend.
Our teams faced strong opposition from clubs across Britain and Ireland, creating valuable learning experiences and opportunities for players to test themselves, make new friendships, and create lasting memories.

A huge thank you to all of our coaches, mentors, parents, guardians, and supporters who gave their time and energy to ensure the weekend was such a success. Your encouragement and commitment to our young players is greatly appreciated.
A special mention must go to our Children's Officer, Anne-Marie, who volunteered with registration on both Friday and Saturday. Volunteers like Anne-Marie are the backbone of events such as these, and without their dedication, weekends like this simply would not be possible.
Most importantly, well done to all of our players. You represented the club with pride and were a credit to yourselves, your families, and our community.

A big shout out to St. Mary's College, Crosby who entered 2 boys teams in to the Northern games for the first time this year.

Despite never having played a competitive match before, the year 9/10 boys were narrowly beaten in the Shield Final where John Mitchels was represented by Cormac Quinlan, Harry Sankson, Jack Summers and Thomas Cowell. They used their experience and talents to help support their team mates, with Cormac Captaining the side.

The year 7/8 side won the Shield, led by clubman Sylvan O'Hara who has helped turn his team mates from talented sports men to a good gaelic football side!

Even more special Sylvan lifted the shield on his birthday!

Special mention should also go to John Mitchels players Harry Willoughby, Luke Tangney and Dylan Summers who supported, coached and today refereed primary matches.

Sylvan, Cormac, Jack and Dylan will be back in action tomorrow for John Mitchels.
