14x Lancashire Senior Mens Championships.
5x All-Britain Junior Champions. There is Gaelic Football for everyone with a mens senior team, a mens junior team, an over 35's team, a ladies team, and underage teams for children of all ages.

🏐 Underage Blitz at Greenbank 🏐

A brilliant afternoon of Gaelic football at Greenbank Park yesterday, as we hosted our U7 & U9 Blitz. 💙💛

We had a fantastic turnout from John Mitchels with 2 U7 teams and 3 U9 teams taking part, with plenty of football played and some brilliant skills on show.

Also it was amazing to see over 30 girls from all the clubs playing together.The future of girls football is looking good in Lancashire GAA

A massive thank you to St Lawrence’s GAA Club Manchester St Brendan's GAA Manchester Oisín GAA Manchester St. Peter's GAA Manchester coaches, parents and supporters, and to all our own coaches and volunteers who helped make the day such a success. 👏

It's that time of year again..............................

The Lancashire Senior Championship begins for us in under 3 weeks and training has moved up a notch. There is a North Britain League game against Glasgow this weekend at Greenbank in prepartion.

Both Championship games will be in Lancashire's new pitch at Broughton Park and we will have the honour of playing the first ever competitive Lancashire club game on the new sod.

The John Mitchels Masters (over-40s) returned to St.Anne’s in Dublin a year older, and a lot wiser, as they were defeated in the final by the home club, St.Anne’s.

John Mitchel’s qualified for the final, after they won five games in a row, but ultimately, fell short against a team who had a much larger squad.

St. Anne’s of Bohernabrenna is the home club of our very own Peter Farrelly. Peter is a stalwart of the club here in Liverpool, where his son and daughters carry on the sport of the Gael each week at Greenbank. Peter in fact, lined out for our Seniors this year where he scored two points in a league final.

St. Anne’s have long been associated with the Mitchel’s here in Liverpool, where in the 1970s and 1980s, our underage teams used to travel back and forth to play one another. We are indebted to the Gaels who have gone before us.

The Mitchel’s squad contained plenty of experience…….. but no youth whatsoever. A few boys left Liverpool this morning at 7:40am, but didn’t land until 9:40am. Obviously, Donald Trump was more important than Paddy Murphy and Michael Molloy. Trump may be the leader of the USA, but can he score points at Greenbank in the Wolfe Tone Cup in March?

Some of the finest footballers to wear the blue and yellow were present in our capital today. Some still live in Liverpool, while others have moved home:

🔵🟡 Great day of underage football for John Mitchels! 🟡🔵

Our U15s had a brilliant win against St Lawrences today in a high-scoring game at Turn Moss. It was great to see them playing 13-a-side on a full-sized pitch, helped out by a number of our U13s players, who were all superb! 👏🏐

Our U11s also had two teams at Turn Moss for their first blitz back after the summer break. Both teams played some fantastic football and it was great to see everyone back enjoying their games! 💪

A big thank you to St Lawrence’s GAA Club Manchester for hosting and to everyone involved in organising the day — everything was top class. 👏

Meanwhile, back at Greenbank, the rest of our age groups were busy training and developing their skills with our brilliant coaches. A huge thanks, as always, to all our coaches and volunteers for giving up their time. 💙💛

Where were John Mitchels this weekend?
Everywhere!

The summer break is over and the Mitchel’s underage is back!

Our u-17s were representing Lancashire in the inter-county games today in Lancashire’s brand new pitch at Broughton Park against Hertfordshire. The lads can look back in years to come and say they were the very first boys to play on the pitch in a competitive game. Comhghairdeas go Jamie Cunningham, Frank Shovlin, Liam Parr agus Matthew Fardelin.

We put two U9s teams out today in Leeds and they played brilliantly. Even since the summer, the kids have returned and there is a step-change in their play. We played teams from Leicester, Huddersfield, Leeds and Glasgow and the atmosphere and facilities were fantastic. The kids were cheered on to the field by the crowd as their names were called by the announcer. A brilliant day all round. There was also l a special duo who represented us today up there today in the girls. Hughie ‘Beag’ Cunningham, brother of our own Conal ‘beags’, was there with his daughter Evie (far left )who are based in Durham. The girls won the shield up there! Well done to them!

Meanwhile, our under 7s were up in Old Bedians at a blitz! They played great today in Manchester at a well organised event. Considering they haven't played for a few months and this was there first run out since before the summer holidays, They where more than capable for their rivals and done the club proud. A wee visit to Mcdonalds helped! They only got home there…… at 7:42pm. Well done to all our coaches!

Drew was at home today at Greenbank with the underage girls.

We are grateful for such wonderful volunteers amongst us.

Northern League

This weekend sees the start of the Northern League involving ourselves, St. Brendan’s, Dunedin Connollys and Glasgow Gaels.

We are up in Manchester for the first game on Saturday.

After these three games, comes the Senior Championship in October which involves ourselves, Brendan’s again and South Manchester Gaels (a mixture of Lawrence’s and Peter’s).

The season is gathering pace now
