We’re getting ready for Christmas… and we need your help!

It might only be September, but we know that Santa.....and parents, are already starting to think ahead to Christmas. And here at the Joseph Lappin Centre, we’re getting ready too.

For some local families, Christmas brings extra worry and financial pressure. We want to help make sure that families going through a difficult time can still enjoy a little extra Christmas magic.

This year, we’re raising money to provide:
Christmas Eve boxes with cosy pyjamas and festive treats for local children
Christmas hampers filled with essential food and Christmas goodies for families

And we simply couldn’t do it without the support of our amazing community.

Every donation genuinely helps! Whether it’s £2, £5 or whatever you can spare, it all adds up and helps us support more local families this Christmas.

And if you can’t donate, sharing our appeal helps too. One share could put it in front of someone who can.

Let’s come together and spread a little Christmas kindness across our community.

Iʼm raising money to Help Us Bring Christmas Cheer to Local Families. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.

Now THAT is teamwork!

A massive thank you to the brilliant team from Intact Insurance who spent the day volunteering with us at the JLC's community garden.
We recently secured funding from the National Lottery Awards for All and the BHP Billiton Endowment Fund so they supported us to clear our space so that we can get ready to build.

Such a hardworking, positive and genuinely lovely bunch of people. The difference a team like this can make in just one day is incredible, and their help means we can make our garden funding go even further.

Thank you Intact – you were AMAZING!

WE’RE RECRUITING – TWO EXCITING NEW SEND YOUTH ROLES!

We’re really excited to be developing our SEND youth provision at The Joseph Lappin Centre, creating a welcoming, inclusive and FUN space where neurodiverse children and young people aged 8–16 can make friends, build confidence, try new things and feel that they belong.

And we’re looking for two brilliant people to help us make it happen!

SEND Youth Coordinator (Neurodiversity Specialist)
£35 per hour
3 hours per week
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of SEND and neurodiversity who can bring creativity, experience and enthusiasm to developing and leading our sessions.

Youth Worker (SEND / Neurodiversity Support)
£14 per hour
2 hours per week – two 1-hour sessions
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate person with experience of supporting children and young people with SEND who can help make our sessions engaging, supportive and enjoyable.

This is a chance to help shape something new at the Centre and create a space where young people can connect, grow, have fun and thrive.

The Joseph Lappin Centre, Old Swan, Liverpool
To apply, send your CV and a short cover letter to Kate McCormick at [email protected]

Please share or tag someone who would be fantastic for either of these roles!

Our new SEND youth provision is made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.
