Congratulations to 'one of our own' Zac for winning the MetEssex District Achievement Award 2025 at this year's MEDCB AGM.

Zac was nominated early in 2025 and his citation read ...
"Zac made the Essex U13 Boys team with his best bowling performance 4 for 8 runs against Middlesex.
Zac plays cricket for his school too. They won the county cup final in 2024, and are repesenting Essex in the Nationals too this year. The school have made the county cup finals again in 2025. His introduction into seniors cricket for Chingford saw him achieve 60 runs in one of his 1st matches. He is well liked at the Club, a supportive teammate, gives thought to others and is a great role model"

Since the nomination, Zac's school won the county cup again, making them winners two years in a row. Zac had an impressive 78 not out in the U14 Alastair Cook Cup with his team reaching the Knockouts; several half centuries with his school; and he captained our very own Chingford U13 team to a season winning victory in the MEDCB U13 Cook Division finals.

We're looking forward to seeing where this young man's path leads. Well done Zac, good effort

Congratulations to Waltham Forest's U13 Cricketers for winning their Group Stages in the London Youth Games 2026 Competition. They will now go on to represent their Borough in the Finals on 22 March.

Players were selected by trials earlier this year and the winning squad include young talent from both Chingford Cricket Club (6 of them) and Loughton Cricket Club making up this year's squad. Well done boys. Great to hear. Good luck in the finals.

We also extend congratulations to our other MetEssex Boroughs who have also made finals day: Redbridge, Havering and Newham
