Most people hear the word core and immediately think about abs.
But your core is so much more than a six-pack.
Your core includes the muscles that surround and support your spine, from your neck and jaw all the way down to your pelvis and pelvic floor. It works with your diaphragm, shoulders, hips and trunk to create stability, balance and efficient movement.
In simple terms:
👉 Your arms and legs can only move well if the centre of your body is stable.
Whether you’re walking, running, lifting weights, playing sport, carrying shopping, climbing stairs or simply getting up from a chair, your core is constantly working behind the scenes.
That’s why at Fitness Hub 21, we don’t just teach exercises.
We teach people how their bodies work.
Understanding movement helps you train more effectively, reduce injury risk, improve posture, build strength and gain confidence in the gym.
This clip is from one of our Learn to Lift workshops, where Head Coach Howard breaks down complex training concepts into practical, easy-to-understand lessons that help our members get more from every session.
Because fitness isn’t just about working harder.
It’s about moving better.

If you want better, you have to move better.
Not just for summer.
Not just for aesthetics.
Not just for the number on the scales.
For your strength.
For your mobility.
For your confidence.
For your energy.
For your future.
Because one of the most age-defying things you can do is build strength, improve mobility, and keep your body moving well for life.
Yes, sunny weather and the Bank Holiday weekend can be great motivation ☀️
Long walks. Family time. Garden projects. Trips away. More movement. More life.
But real progress is not built on motivation. It is built on consistency.
Some workouts feel incredible. Some feel average. Both count.
As Howard said this week, turning up consistently, training with effort and intent is what creates progress and results.
At Fitness Hub 21, we are not about punishing workouts or chasing “summer body” panic.
We are about sustainable fitness, expert coaching, strength training, better movement, long-term health, and a genuinely welcoming community where people of all fitness levels feel supported.
Whether your goal is:
✔ Moving without aches and stiffness
✔ Feeling stronger and more capable
✔ Improving balance and mobility
✔ Building confidence in the gym
✔ Having more energy for everyday life
✔ Looking and feeling your best this summer
…it starts with moving better.

What makes people keep coming back to the gym?
It is not just the workouts. It is the people, the coaching, the support, the laughter, the accountability, and knowing that whatever your starting point, you will be looked after. 💙
Anne and Chrissy say it better than we ever could. What started as a Tuesday 8AM class has become friendship, routine, stronger bodies, better balance, more confidence, and a community that genuinely supports one another.
That is exactly what Fitness Hub 21 is all about.
We are not a “figure it out on your own” gym.
We are not an intimidating gym floor full of guesswork.
We are not about one-size-fits-all fitness.
We are a supportive small group personal training community in Winchmore Hill / Enfield, where expert coaching, exercise adaptations, strength training, accountability, nutritional guidance and real human connection come together.
Because fitness should work for you, not the other way around.
Whether you are getting back into exercise, want to feel stronger, improve balance, build confidence with weights, support long-term health, or simply find a welcoming place where you actually enjoy showing up… this is exactly why we exist.
And yes, fun is allowed too. Singing in class is optional. Talking while exercising… slightly less encouraged 👀😄

A great workout is not about rushing through every set. It is about being ready, focused and intentional when it matters. Take your recovery properly, set yourself up well, then give your working sets the attention they deserve.
At Fitness Hub 21, our small group sessions are built around that balance:
• focused effort
• proper recovery
• good technique
• supportive coaching
• respect for each other’s training space
Even when the gym is busy, the goal is never chaos. It is calm, focused training, done well, in a community that helps each other get stronger.
And yes, Howard might even give out a few “perfects” if the form is good enough.
Do not forget to pick up your gym bingo card and join in with the fun over the next month.
If you are in Winchmore Hill, Enfield or North London and want to train in a focused, friendly and supportive environment, our 28 Day Reset Challenge is a great place to start.
“It just makes me feel good… and I keep coming back.”
In Part 1 of this member testimonial, Sudha shares something we hear all the time at Fitness Hub 21.
It’s not just about the workout.
It’s about how you feel when you walk in, and when you leave.
For many people, traditional gyms can feel intimidating, especially around weights. What makes the difference here is the environment:
• Friendly, welcoming community
• No pressure, no judgement
• Fully coached small group sessions
• A space where you can learn, move and enjoy training
That is why our members stay consistent. Because it feels good, it feels safe, and it feels like something you actually want to come back to.
If you are based in Winchmore Hill, Enfield or North London and want a gym where you can train with confidence and support, our 6 Week Reset Challenge is a great place to start.

Healthy eating is not about perfection. It is about having a plan.
In this clip from our recent Nutrition Workshop, Head Coach Howard breaks down one of the most important (and often misunderstood) concepts in nutrition:
Even “healthy food” can lead to overeating if portions are not right.
You do not need to obsess over calories.
But understanding roughly what works for your body and then making it easy to stick to is where the real change happens.
This is where simple meal prep comes in:
• Figure out portion sizes that work for you
• Cook in batches
• Store meals ready to go
• Remove daily decision-making
No guesswork. No stress. Just consistency.
At Fitness Hub 21, we do not just focus on training. We help you build realistic nutrition habits that fit into your life, especially if you are busy, tired, or starting again.
If you are in Winchmore Hill, Enfield or North London and want support with both training and nutrition, our 28 Day Spring Reset Challenge is the perfect place to start.
Structured training. Practical nutrition guidance. Supportive community.

Discipline is not loud. It is built in the quiet choices.
The early alarm. The session you nearly skipped. The rep you completed with good form. The decision to keep going when motivation is nowhere to be found.
At Fitness Hub 21, we believe real progress does not come from waiting to feel inspired. It comes from choosing consistency, structure and support, over and over again.
That is why our members get results.
Not through shortcuts.
Not through extreme plans.
But through small group personal training, expert coaching, and a welcoming community that helps you keep showing up.
If you are in Winchmore Hill, Enfield or North London and you are tired of stop-start fitness cycles, this is your reminder that discipline gets easier when you are in the right environment.
Choose effort over excuses.
Choose consistency over comfort.
Choose progress over perfection.
If you are ready to build habits that actually last, our 28 Day Spring Reset Challenge is a great place to start. Link in bio.
Most people get the deadlift wrong before it even starts.
In this clip from our Learn to Lift workshop, Head Coach Howard breaks down the first and most important part of the deadlift, setting up correctly and taking the slack out of the bar.
Before you lift, you need to:
• find your natural stance, feet under hips
• keep the bar over midfoot
• use long, relaxed arms (no bending, no jerking)
• stay close to the bar to reduce unnecessary strain
• create tension by taking the slack out before you pull
This is where most injuries and inefficiencies happen, not during the lift itself, but in the setup.
At Fitness Hub 21, we focus on teaching proper technique from the ground up so our members can lift safely, build strength confidently and actually understand what they are doing.
This is what small group personal training should be. Not just reps, but real coaching.
If you are based in Winchmore Hill, Enfield or North London and want to learn how to lift properly in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment, our 6 Week Reset Challenge is the perfect place to start.
