🩰 Ballet is so much more than just pliés…

This little zig-zag exercise may look simple, but look at how much a child is actually learning to do at the same time:

* 🧠 Think & plan – working out where the next step needs to go
* ⚖️ Balance – staying steady while moving from one block to another
* 👣 Coordination – controlling the feet, legs and body together
* 🩰 Point the toes – remembering to stretch and point the foot with every step
* 🦵 Lift the legs – learning to lift and place each leg with control
* 🧍‍♀️ Posture – keeping the body tall and upright while moving
* 👀 Focus & concentration – watching the path while remembering all the instructions
* 🧩 Spatial awareness – understanding where their body and feet are in relation to the obstacles
* 💪 Strength & body control – learning to control movements rather than simply rushing through
* 🌟 Confidence – completing a little challenge independently and feeling proud of it

And the most important part? They are doing all of these things simultaneously.

For a young child, that is a lot of thinking, coordinating and controlling the body at once all while having fun.

Ballet isn’t only about learning steps. It helps children develop coordination, concentration, balance, body awareness, confidence and so much more. 🩰

Sometimes the exercises that look the simplest are doing the biggest job. ❤️
