Fantastic results for BGSSC swimmers at the first weekend of the SE London Summer Swimming Championships 2026 at the LAC! 🏊‍♀️

Gabriela Gilkes reached two regional finals in the girls’ 11/12 years long course events, finishing:

👏 6th in the 50m Freestyle with a time of 30.58
👏 8th in the 50m Backstroke with a time of 35.82

A brilliant achievement at regional level.

Congratulations also to her sister Giuliana, who achieved a PB in the girls’ 14 years 50m Freestyle with a time of 30.32. 💪

Well done to both swimmers — a fantastic start to the championships!

Huge congratulations to two of our BGSSC swimmers, who each won three medals at the NUEL SC National Qualifier Open Meet on 21–22 March 2026.

This Licensed Level 1 long course meet, held at the LAC, is a high-level competition aimed at Regional and National standard swimmers.

🥈 Gabriela Gilkes won three silver medals in the Girls 12 Years 50m Backstroke, 100m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly.

🥈🥉🥉 Leonard Zaremba won silver in the Boys 12 Years 50m Backstroke, and bronze in the 100m and 200m Backstroke. Even better, all of Leonard’s swims were PBs.

A fantastic achievement from both swimmers — well done, Gabriela and Leonard! 🦈

Several BGSSC swimmers took part in the Erith & OJ’s Spring Meet at Crook Log Leisure Centre, Bexleyheath, on Saturday 7 March 2026.

There were some brilliant performances from our swimmers, including medal success for:

🥇🥈 Liam Bukovec Santana in the Boys 11 Years events, winning Gold in the 100m Backstroke and Silver in the 50m Breaststroke

🥉 Benjamin O’Berry in the Boys 25 Years category, winning Bronze in the 50m Butterfly

Heat winners also received a toy duck, with BGSSC heat winners being:

A small but mighty team of BGSSC swimmers made a splash at the RTSC Christmas Cracker Meet held at Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December 2025.

🏅 Ryan Rahman had a standout performance, bringing home two medals for the 9 Years Boys age group:

🥉 Bronze – 100m Breaststroke
