Hello everyone,
We would like to make residents aware that on Saturday 29th August, a celebration will be taking place in Wandon Close to mark a birthday and, most importantly, the successful completion of treatment following a cancer diagnosis.
There will be music, laughter, and a gathering of family and friends from 2:00pm, with all music and noise finishing by 11:00pm at the latest.
We hope this celebration will not cause too much disturbance to our neighbours and appreciate your understanding. We wanted to give everyone advance notice so that no one is caught by surprise.
Please also note that both the Police and the Local Council have been made aware of the event.
Thank you for your understanding and support.

Many residents will have heard or seen the mini road sweeper out all morning, sweeping the roads within the Wandon Park site and along Hayling Drive.
It has been reported to us that, before leaving, the sweeper emptied its load back on site — only for it to be left blowing around again !
So, after spending all morning sweeping it up, it’s apparently been put straight back on the ground!
You honestly couldn’t make it up! 🫣🙄

Yesterday Boom construction added hoods to the electric lights within the alleyway, hopefully this helped local residents who had been affected by the bright lights shining into their houses…
For those that attended the recent Let’s Talk meeting, you will remember the issue of parking within Stopsley Village was discussed.
Attendee’s were advised by LBC that details for a parking proposal for local businesses and residents would be launched w/c 24th August.
We were hugely disappointed to be informed yesterday that Luton Council cannot stick to this date and are unable give us a revised timescale due to staff resourcing issues.
We will keep you updated !

Residents who use the Wandon alleyway may have noticed that the electric lights were illuminated on Friday evening for the first time. Many of you will also have noticed that they haven’t gone off since!!
Apparently, there is a fault with the sensor, meaning the lights are currently staying on 24/7.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon!

NO fireworks Luton !! 🎇
🔥 IMPORTANT NOTICE – DISPOSABLE BBQ BAN 🔥
The UK Government has today introduced temporary restrictions banning the sale of disposable barbecues across Great Britain due to the significant fire risk caused by the current extreme heat and dry conditions.
With the ground extremely dry, even a small spark can quickly develop into a serious fire. We therefore ask everyone to take extra care and not to use disposable BBQs.
🌿 Please help us protect our parks, wildlife, neighbouring areas and, most importantly, everyone’s safety.
Thank you💚
