At the heart of the Gracie Barra Family’s extraordinary success is our strong philosophy and mission as a group, a foundation which our masters laid many years ago. Our mission is reinforced by the great people who make up our community.

Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu is a beautiful art, and we have a vision of how it should be taught. It is a means for individual development going beyond the competitive realm. To achieve this vision, we must remember to come together as a family, always putting the team before the individual. For that, we will always fight for what we believe is right.

We seek to train body, mind and spirit through the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction. We envision the art as a vehicle for individual development and strengthening of family spirit, going beyond the winning-losing or contest philosophy.

Building Strong, Confident Kids Through Jiu-Jitsu 🔺

Our GBK programme follows the same structured approach as our adult classes, with adjustments made for different age groups. Children start by learning the basic building blocks of Jiu-Jitsu, helping them develop solid fundamentals in a clear and organised way.

At Gracie Barra Chelmsford & Gracie Barra Maldon, we are proud to offer classes that give children real benefits both on and off the mats. Through Jiu-Jitsu, they improve coordination, focus, confidence, fitness and learn practical self-defence skills they would not gain from most other sports.

Training regularly helps children release energy in a positive way while learning to concentrate on one task at a time. Our certified instructors guide them through structured sessions that build discipline and problem-solving skills.

The Gracie Barra team spirit gives kids and teens a genuine sense of belonging. We operate as a team and support each other like a family, helping every child develop leadership, trust and strong social skills.
