Nothing on at Marldon today, apart from roll-ups, if you want to watch bowls today then Torbay Country club are hosting the MDL Finals and the MDL Cup, with semi final this morning and final this afternoon.

Today we greet a visiting team of retired and off duty police personnel for our annual Marldon v Devon & Cornwall police game.

Today our green is in use for a ladies match between Devon Ladies and ladies from Section 6 clubs. Good luck to all.

After a trip to Topsham yesterday, we we were hoping for a game against Keynsham BC today. However it has rained almost all night and is still raining and the greenkeeper has declared the green to be too wet so game has been cancelled.

Our apologies to Keynsham but our green is waterlogged and soft.

Pleased to see the sun out for our finals weekend with games at 9am 1:30pm and 4 :30 pm today and tomorrow. 13 club finals to be played.

Last month of our outdoor season, and we can look forward to a number of touring sides starting tomorrow with Barwood Bowls club.. I can’t find any trace of Barwood on line so I’m thinking it’s Barnwood bowls club from Gloucester. We visited them on our tour in 2022. Tomorrow afternoon’s game has been cancelled due to adverse weather predicted but the Final Morning Coaching session of this season will go ahead regardless, and will take place in clubhouse if it is wet.

Only one rink in use for tonight umbrella, but they were having a very competitive but fun game and the fun continued in the clubhouse afterwards. Many thanks to H who was manning the bar.
