📢We've just scheduled an extra Pony Hour session on Thursday 20 August from 10.30 am - 11.30 am!

🐴 Pony Hour is suitable for all children aged 4 - 12 years and costs £38.

🐴 In this fun session children spend half an hour riding and half an hour on the yard with the ponies, getting hands-on grooming and decorating them (and sometimes bathing them if the weather is hot!). It's a great opportunity for children to have fun outside, learn new skills and gain confidence around horses. Parents can stay for the session or collect at the end.

⚠️ Please note, children should wear wellies or boots for this activity (no open toed sandals or trainers for safety)
⚠️ All children MUST also wear trousers to ride (no shorts or skirts please - leggings and joggers are suitable alternatives to jodhpurs).

🐎You can book a place at Pony Hour via ECPro: https://ride-high.ecpro.co.uk/
Or find out more on our website: https://ridehighequestriancentre.co.uk/summer-holidays-2026/

All places must be prebooked and numbers are limited!

Our next Horsemastership session will be on Friday 18 September: In this hands-on session we'll be learning about why we plait horses and ponies and about the different types of plaits we can use. Then we'll be having a go at producing our own perfect plaits!

🐴These sessions are only open to our graded riders.

We have some very sad news to share today:

🌈Today would have been Treacle’s 28th birthday.

After a wonderful final year as a sensory pony, we retired Treacle at the end of last year, due to her advancing age. She had settled in well in her new home with a member of our team, and was enjoying her new life of leisure. However, earlier this summer we took the very difficult and sad decision to send her over the rainbow bridge, as various age-related ailments and the high summer temperatures were causing her issues, and she was beginning to seem less comfortable. Our team were naturally very upset, as Treacle has been with us since Ride High moved to Loughton in 2018, and she has touched so many of us. However, whilst we loved Treacle dearly, we must always put our horses’ welfare before our own feelings, and so, having enjoyed a shorter rest and retirement than we had intended, we took the painful decision to let her go.

We’ve waited a little time to share this news as we were all very sad, but her birthday seems the right time to share it and to celebrate her life of service to the local community. Run free, kind and gentle Treacle, we hope you are now enjoying the long grass and gentle breeze over the rainbow bridge with your friends.

🏆We held our first ever Sports Day yesterday and the children (and our team) had a great time!

We kicked off the day with clear round jumping and then after choosing their team names, the teams were given the mystery challenge of transforming a team member to strut their stuff on our catwalk...

🐴 The youngsters were trying out a mineral lick today - Loki waited for Te Fiti to check it out first... before stealing it from her, getting a nose-full and then pulling a face!
