Team Wychwood’s Chris Flay was out on the Welsh rivers this weekend using his Dryfly set up.. The Drift 9ft 4 # matched with the Drift reel.

Wychwood sponsored a 2 day Pike fly fishing association event at Rutland over the weekend. Conditions were not favourable but 16 anglers battled it out to take home some great prizes, including our new Wychwood Agitator predator fly rods. Whilst fish were hard to tempt, a few did manage, and did so in style! Top of the table was a collosal pike of over 37lb! Well done to all those that took part.

Wychwood Ambassador Chris Flay with a lovely Brown on a recent trip to wales, Chris was using the 9ft 4 # Drift, matched with Drift Reel and Feather Floater for perfect dry fly presentation.

🎣 We had a fantastic day at Press Manor Fishing Lakes-Bernie Maher on Friday with Andy Taylor.

Despite the weather forecast being far from ideal, with high temperatures and bright sunny skies, the trout certainly didn’t seem to mind — the rods were constantly bending throughout the day!

Once a bit of cloud cover finally rolled in, the lake really came alive, with fish rising everywhere. There was a brilliant mix of chunky 3lb rainbows, silver finned-up bullets, and even a decent number of stunning rudd.

Andy’s two-rod setup consisted of a Truefly FA alongside our Wychwood Fly Fishing kit, which he was seriously impressed with. The winning flies on the day were two Shipmans, while the washing line setup with a big FAB and two small buzzers also worked incredibly well.

We honestly couldn’t believe the quality of the fishing given the conditions, and would definitely recommend giving Press Manor a visit if you’re planning a fly fishing session anytime soon.🐟
