Could you be our next Barnability Trainee Coach?

What better way to find out what our trainee coaching programme is all about than hearing from the people living it every week?

🎥 In this video, four of our trainee coaches share why they love coaching, what they’ve learned, and why Barnability means so much to them.

Our 6-week Introduction to Trainee Coaching is the perfect first step if you’d like to develop new skills, build confidence and learn how to coach in the community.

Over the six weeks you’ll learn:

⭐ The fundamentals of coaching
⭐ How to adapt exercises for different abilities
⭐ Communication and social skills
⭐ How to deliver an effective warm-up
⭐ Planning and leading a main session
⭐ Session planning and organisation
⭐ Building confidence to coach individuals and groups
⭐ Working as part of a supportive coaching team

No previous coaching experience is needed—just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and a desire to help others.

Friday fun with Barnbility coaches! 💚💙

Our Friday session was packed with a brilliant mix of strength and cardio, and everyone gave it their all! 💪🔥

We rounded off the session with one of our absolute favourites… co****le! The competition was fierce, and the teamwork was fantastic.

A massive congratulations to our students for taking the win, with Carol showing off some incredible co****le skills along the way! 👏🏆

This weekend our amazing volunteer, Steph, is taking on the Lindisfarne Raider Half Marathon! 🏃‍♀️💚

Steph gives up so much of her time to support Barnability and our incredible young people. Whether she’s encouraging others, lending a hand, or simply being there when she’s needed, she makes a huge difference to our charity.

This weekend it’s her turn to be cheered on!

Not only is she taking on this incredible challenge, but she’s also raising money for Barnability to help us continue creating opportunities for young people with additional needs.

Steph, we hope you have an amazing race, enjoy every mile, and know that we’ll all be cheering you on from the sidelines.

To us, you’re definitely a superhero. 💚🦸‍♀️

📸 A sneak peek at some of the fantastic photos captured by Melissa from last Monday!

These images perfectly capture the energy, teamwork, and smiles from an unforgettable day. What an incredible experience it was for everyone involved.

Our trainee coaches are still buzzing from the day, and we’re so proud of everything they achieved. We can’t wait to share more photos with you soon! 💚💙

It was fantastic to have Charlie join us at today’s session! 💚💙

It’s so special to see our younger athletes inspired by their older brothers. Charlie is already desperate to start coaching and can’t wait to earn his very own Barnability trainee coaches T-shirt! We love seeing the next generation so excited to get involved. 🌟

Trust isn’t given—it’s earned. 💙💚

At Barnability, we build trust first—because that’s where confidence begins.

On Friday, two of our trainee coaches overcame their fear of lying back in the water. With patience, support, and trust, they proved to themselves they could do it.

We’re incredibly proud of how far they’ve come. 🌊✨

A little act of kindness can make a big difference. 💙

A kind shop owner gifted James a few shells for his collection, even though the display wasn’t for sale and meant a lot to her.

A thoughtful gesture that made a lovely day even more special. So a big shout out to this fantastic little shop in Amble. Thank you! 🐚
