Congratulations to Malcolm Goodinson and Peter Graham on winning the Seniors Section End of Season Trophies today with scores of 42 points each. Jeff Gale and Keith Hetherington were just pipped having 41 points each. Andy Lockwood presented the trophies.

The Golf Foundation’s fantastic amateur series gives players the chance to qualify for the final at The Grove — with the top 3 going on to represent the Golf Foundation at the Pro-Am at Wentworth!

All this started from a £5 entry at our Whickham qualifier this summer.

An incredible opportunity, an incredible prize, and a chance to play some of the country’s most prestigious courses.

What a lovely day we had for our Lady Vice Captain’s Day, with a fantastic turnout and a fabulous Dolly Parton theme! 🤠🎶💗

A huge congratulations to Helen Coldron, Irene Carmichael and Janice Atkinson, who won the Lady Vice Captain’s Competition with an impressive 71 points! 🏆👏

🏆Congratulations to the father and son pairing of Naas and Gerhardt Badenhorst on winning the Calcutta Pairs Competition, beating Jonny Rutherford and James Dobson 1up in an exciting game played in testing windy conditions.

Naas and Gerhardt fought back from being 4 down after 11 holes to win the last hole with Gerhardt holing a nervy five footer for the win.⛳

Well done to both pairs on reaching the final. ⛳

James Simpson was victorious in today’s Club Matchplay Final, edging out Bryan Levey 3&1 in a quality match played in torrential conditions at times ☔️ well played to both players 👏👏

James (pictured with men’s captain and today’s referee, Michael Farrey) completes a hattrick of high profile wins in 2026 - today’s win adding to his Club Championship and Hollinside Scratch Trophy wins earlier in the summer. Congratulations to James on a great season - we wish him well in next weekend’s Northern Golfer & Yorkshire Golfer Champion of Champions event at The Longhirst Club 🤞
