Backworth Cricket Club is a local club set in the grounds of Backworth Golf Club. Founded in 1874 and a great place to spend your summer!
We have four senior sides - two which play on a Saturday, a 3rd team which plays on a Sunday and a T20 team which plays on Thursday evenings. In addition to this we have a thriving junior section which fields teams at under 18, under 15, under 13 and Under 11 levels. Anyone is welcome at Backworth, players or non players! Backworth’s 1st XI exit the Tyneside Charity Bowl one round later than normal with a 26 run defeat to NEPL side Benwell Hill. There’s always next year.

🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS 🏏
The 1st XI recovered from 33-6 to 192 all out to defeat Ryton in a rollercoaster game - winning by 7 runs.
The 2nd XI fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of Civil Service.
The Sunday Academy XI also lost to Peterlee, posting a low total which Peterlee comfortably chased.
