Afon Valley 2 - 6 Bedwas Reserves.
We began life in Div 2 with a disappointing loss on Wednesday night.
Despite coming from behind twice to draw level, we fell off the horse in the last 10 minutes as Bedwas scored 4 late goals in a competitive game.
Our Goals came from Alex Jones, who took his opportunity well and Danny Thomas, who finished excellently after some great build up play.
All the best to Bedwas who were the better side on the night.

We go again Saturday against Risca Town Development, where we look for improvement from the lads.

The wait is finally over. Afon Valley FC open our 2026/27 campaign in the Sage & Co Newport District Div 2 with a home clash against Bedwas Reserves, tonight at Risca Leisure centre, 7pm ko!

A positive pre-season against some genuine top opposition has the squad confident and hungry. Spirits are high, the work has been put in, and everyone’s itching to get stuck into competitive football again.
