Our third and final aquathlon of the series is done, and what a night it was! We couldn't bring the sunshine, but we certainly brought the speed, and that's what counts.

A huge thank you to everyone who raced over the past three weeks and to our brilliant marshals and volunteers.

The sunshine may not have lasted, but that didn't stop Newry Triathlon Club members from turning out in force at TriAthy and the James McManus Sprint this weekend.

Back home several club members took the Battle of Carlingford Lough swim and our New to Tri group completed their programme today. A huge well done to everyone involved. Shane and Ritchie led the group through a swim, bike and run session around the Crooked Lake route. Well done all!!

Now it’s time to cool down, so get yourself to Camlough Lake tomorrow night for our second aquathlon, or as we’re calling it this week, the Costa del Camlough.

Bank Holiday weekend may have been short on sunshine, but it certainly wasn’t short on racing for NTC, with members competing brilliantly both at home and abroad!

First up, a huge congratulations to Mattie Kinkaid on his Ironman Lanzarote debut, finishing in an incredible 9:34:52 on one of the toughest Ironman courses in the world!

Over in Slovakia at the Challenge World Championships, Yvonne Loughran put in a blistering performance to finish in 4:53:33, while David Boyle crossed the line in a superb 4:37:30.

Patrick McDaid was also flying the flag in France, finishing an impressive 8th overall.

Closer to home, we had a strong NTC turnout at Lough Cutra:

* Nigel McCullough, who finished 2nd in the Sprint Duathlon and 1st in his age group in the Standard Distance
* Sinead Hanlon, completing her very first triathlon. Well done!
* Evin Quinn who did the 1 mile swim

At the Race for Life in Stormont, Shane and Eimear McCourt were representing the club.
