🏐 Poyntzpass born and bred… now managing the Lissummon ladies. They didn’t just get the man, they got the manager too.

💍 An hour before leaving for Jamaica and the engagement ring was still in the shop window. Nothing says romance quite like a last-minute panic buy.

🕺 She said birthday party in the Ballymac. He got a céilí. 90s catfishing at its finest.

✂️ And that hairstyle? Not much has changed. Even marrying a barber’s daughter couldn’t convince him to stop cutting it himself.

Here are a few clues to help you out…

📍 He’s a Jonesborough man, she’s Lissummon born and bred — proving a few parish lines were never going to stand in the way of this one.

👀 She’ll tell you she was only there for the football… but she seemed to make a suspicious number of appearances at Dromintee games while her Dad was managing St Joseph’s and Laochra O’Neills. Pure coincidence, apparently. 😂

🏐 32 years and 3 kids later, not much has changed when it comes to the football. He’s now coaching the next generation, whilst she is still going strong on the starting 15. 💪

⏰ And if you’ve worked out who she is, don’t expect her to confirm it straight away… being late is less of a habit and more of a personality trait. ⌚️

We’ve tested the younger generations… now it’s time to bring in the professionals. 46 years together — surely they should know each other by now? 👀

Here are a few clues…

⛪ Long before Tinder, Hinge or sliding into DMs, all it took was a trip to Mass in Newry Cathedral. Who knew the Cathedral was running a matchmaking service?

🍽️ The Fairways Hotel was the setting for date number one. Whatever was on the menu clearly worked… because nearly five decades later, here we are.

💇‍♀️ She’s stuck with the same man all these years… but the same hairstyle? Absolutely not. He might be a permanent fixture, but the hair is subject to change without notice.

📏 He’s a perfectionist and a man of few words. So volunteering to sit on stage and have his marriage publicly examined might just be the most out-of-character decision he’s made yet. 😂

🧬 Two kids later and it’s safe to say Dad’s genes didn’t even make it onto the pitch. Mum won that one by a landslide.

🏐 He’s worn more club jerseys than most people own coats. Five teams later, he finally found his footballing home in Lissummon.

🍽️ Forget Tinder, Hinge or a romantic first date… this love story began in St Paul’s canteen.

💍 When the big proposal finally came, he got down on one knee… well, sort of. The chinos were apparently too good to risk making full contact with the ground. Romance: 10/10. Commitment to the kneel: 4/10.
