MEET THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF TEAM TEMPEST 👊

We’re excited to officially welcome Amy & Leon to the Tempest team, starting in September!

Both have come through our Tempest Leadership Program, put in the hours on the mat, assisted with classes and consistently shown us they’ve got what it takes.

Now they get the opportunity to take that next step.

And honestly… they’re only just getting started 👊🔥

Amy is currently studying for a Master’s in Child Psychology and has experience working in Early Years, giving her a fantastic understanding of working with and supporting young children. We 100% know she’s going to be a brilliant addition to our kids’ programme.

Leon is currently studying part-time at college on a Uniformed Services course, alongside his training at Tempest. The discipline, responsibility and professionalism that comes with that are already shining through and mixed with his strong family ties to the fitness industry, he’s got a great foundation to build on.

Both are still young… and that’s what makes this so exciting.

They’ve put in the work.
They’ve stepped up.
They’ve earned the opportunity.

As Tempest continues to grow, Amy and Leon will be helping with our younger students, supporting classes and taking on more responsibility within the academies.

Give good people responsibility.
Give them a chance to prove themselves.
Then get out of their way.
These two are going to be very hard to stop!

WHY DON’T WE JUST TELL OUR STUDENTS TO BUY THEIR OWN GLOVES? 🥊

Because we care about what they’re training in.

We could tell parents to nip into Sports Direct and grab a pair of cheap Lonsdale or Everlast gloves.

But we don’t want our kids training in the cheapest gloves they can find.

So we made our own.

Our Teens Only Kickboxing Classes… it’s about giving teenagers a space where they can challenge themselves, belong and always have a mint time.

And let’s be honest… going back to high school after the summer can be tough.

So even if they’re not ready to start during the holidays, now is the perfect time to register their interest.

Over the next 3 months, every class will include short lessons and conversations designed to help our students build strong character, broken down into three key areas:

👊 Month 1: Respect
Respect for themselves, their parents, their instructors, their teammates and the people around them.

👊 Month 2: Honesty
Having the courage to tell the truth, own mistakes, and become someone others can trust.

👊 Month 3: Responsibility
Taking ownership of their actions, following through on commitments and understanding that every choice has consequences.

These lessons don’t stop when class ends.

They show up at home, school… all areas of life!

Because our goal has never been to simply create better martial artists.

Our goal is to help parents raise confident, respectful, honest and responsible young people who are ready for life.
That’s how we see Martial Arts!

This weekend we had the pleasure of welcoming Walker Central U9s into Tempest.

People often think kickboxing is just about punching and kicking.

They’re missing the point.

We worked on movement, balance, coordination, reaction speed, confidence under pressure, communication and the mindset that helps young athletes perform when it matters most.

Because whether you’re stepping onto a football pitch or into a kickboxing class, the biggest battles are usually won in your head first.

A massive shoutout to Mark, one of our Leadership Team members, who also coaches Walker Central. He’s a brilliant example of what leadership is all about… investing in young people both on and off the mats.

This is what Tempest is all about.

Not just creating better martial artists.

Creating more confident kids, stronger teams, better leaders, and giving back to the community that supports us.

Thanks to everyone at Walker Central for bringing such a fantastic group of young players. We loved having you in the gym and we can’t wait to do it again 👊⚽

Parents… We spend so much time telling our children what we hope they’ll become.

Be kind.
Work hard.
Be confident.
Don’t give up.
Look after yourself.

But deep down we know children often don’t become what we tell them.

They become what they see.

How we handle stress…. Keeping our promises… how we talk about ourselves…. whether we look after our health or put ourselves last.

Our actions become their normal.

That’s one of the reasons we’re so passionate about what we do.

Yes, we help children build confidence, discipline, resilience and respect.

But we’re just as passionate about helping adults become the best version of themselves too!

Because when a parent starts believing in themselves again…
When they start looking after their health…
When they start stepping outside their comfort zone…

Their children notice.

Martial arts is more than punching and kicking…

It’s about becoming the kind of person your children are proud to learn from.

And not because you’re perfect.

But because you’re willing to grow.

Your children are always watching.
