We have to find ways of helping Headteachers to steady their ships. They can do it but they needs space to think! This is especially true when it comes to inclusion.

We have to find ways of helping Headteachers to steady their ships. They can do it but they needs space to think! This is especially true when it comes to inclusion.
We know that if Headteachers are give the time and space they find answers to the if questions. That is exactly why we created DESTINO LIVE. Will you join the us and a group of schools and trusts to work on the solutions to the big issues in schools on 27th June?

Well, it turns out that talking about education over cups of tea and accross Headteachers office tables wasn’t enough, so we’ve gone and started a podcast.
After countless conversations about leadership, schools, teaching, learning, and all the times we’ve said, ‘there has to be a better way to do this,’ we decided to put a microphone in front of ourselves and see what happened.
The good news: Episode 1 is now live.
It may be the most freely ADHD thing I’ve ever done. Talked, chopped and played in a tool I’ve never used before and uploaded.
The bad news now though, is that there is recorded evidence of our opinions. Some of which, I warn potential listeners, aren’t always mainstream.
In our first episode, I talk about why inclusion has become the biggest strategic priority for schools. I believe if Headteachers are able to really lead they will literally change our world one small community at a time. I also believe inclusion is the antidote to anger and hate.
Design in teaching methods and curriculum need to start asking some uncomfortable but important questions about the purpose of education and the kind of adults we hope our students will become. Headteachers need space to do this important work,
If you’re interested in education, leadership, school improvement or just enjoy listening to people trying to make sense of the wonderfully chaotic world of schools, we’d love you to give it a listen.
Be kind. It’s our first episode. We’re educators, not broadcasters.
Let us know what you think and if there are topics you’d like us to tackle in future episodes, we’d love to hear them.
This episode is dedicated to Bex Merritt who convinced me it was a good idea and pushed me outside my comfort zone (always good to remember how that feels as a coach).
It’s 17mins long so don’t overthink it, just press play!

Are you tired of firefighting when it comes to supporting your most vulnerable pupils.
We believe a systems rethink is well overdue. In this short video I outline how we aim to support you with this.
What would you do differently if you had the time?
Do spend a lot of time reacting to pupils in crisis?
The problem with this is it drives reactive spending and that option has be taken away from you by funding cuts.
We have designed an event that will support you to start thinking about redesigning systems rather than trying to hold together an outdated system that you can’t afford.
What’s your biggest inclusion challenge?
Are you caught up worrying about how you can be inclusive AND achieve strong outcomes?
Well, maybe inclusion is not competition for achievement!
Maybe it is the foundation for achievement!
