Wednesday over 60s Championship League

NSS Mix 3 v Pacemakers 3

Mix started the season with only two players from last seasons team playing.

Fine keeping by both keepers, especially Martin Ho**er, kept the score 3-1 to Pacemakers coming into final quarter

The game was turned around by Peter P retrieving the ball before it went off and playing the ball back for a lovely strike by Steve W making it 3-2 the goal was followed up with another fine strike by Kev L to copy his one earlier in the game.

A really enjoyable game to watch, credit to Pacemakers, who played some good football and to Ref Matt M for helping to achieve this.

Wednesday Mix showed a lot of character to come back with players injured Howard, Andy and Neill hopefully helping the squad out

I can see the team doing well this season .

over 50s Sunday Premiership League

NSS v Norwich CSF

Last season's first and second placed teams faced off against each other in the opening game of the new 50s league premiership season.

CSF, sporting a shocking new lilac kit, took the lead through Wilson with a good finish from a tight angle. But they were clocking up running offences, and eventually NSS equalised via penalty specialist Whiteley.

With the score at 1-1 at half time, both teams were at risk of conceding penalties for running, and NSS took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd quarter via a second unstoppable pen from Whiteley.

Into the final quarter, NSS eventually clocked up their 4th running offence and the penalty was put away by Wilson for his second.

And with just a couple of minutes remaining Wilson completed his hat-trick with a smart turn and finish to win the game for CSF.

It was a good competitive game played in good spirit - a draw might have been a fair result

Thanks to Martin for reffing the game well.

over 50s Sunday Championship League

Today saw the newly formed NSS Mix play their first fixture against Long Stratton who played in the Premiership last season.

The first Quarter saw NSS absorb some early pressure with Martin Young making a fine early low save with Ian J putting in a couple of crucial blocks while we tried to get to grips with the game.

Stratton hit the post but NSS were starting to grow into the game dominating the second Quarter with a good testing strike from Trevor T also good combinations between Ray Dekayzer and Scott T starting to threaten.

The pressure from NSS paid off when Ray put a quick clever pass for Scott to fire home first time just before Halftime.

The 2nd Half was a lesson for NSS early in the season.

Some loose marking saw the Stratton equaliser straight after the break.

NSS lost a bit of shape and this made it a busy 2nd half for Martin who had a fine display in goal pulling of a series of fine saves but Long Stratton continued the onslaught to finish 4-1 Winners.

The game was very well reffed by Phil. Thankyou Phil.⚽️
