The Lions season finally gets under way on Saturday with a trip to Diss, with no 1XV game this Saturday it would be great to get some support down there to give the boys some backing!

Showing the true values of rugby, Norwich and North Walsham U14s have combined to form 'Norwich Vikings'. Last Sunday saw the boys first game of the season v West Norfolk and the lads wore the new kit which combines the colours of both clubs.

Well done to those involved at both clubs for making this happen and many thanks to the all the kit sponsors 👏

Confirmation that, despite some light rain across the county over the last two days, the 1st XV away game at West Norfolk on Saturday 10th October is postponed.

This is because the WN pitches are unsuitable for play, being rock hard. As Norwich's pitches are no better, the fixture has been postponed until 23rd January 2027.

The Lions head to Diss 2s for their first game of the season so please come and support them, as we give a first run out to some new players. Kick off 1500hrs

Our Pogue Mahon's Player of the Match against Shelford 2's was Oli Youngs. Oli won a bottle of Jameson's and a meal for two at our favourite City centre watering hole, Pogue Mahon's Irish Bar and Grill on Prince of Wales Road, Norwich.

Our Barnham Broom Hotel/Golf/Spa Volunteer of the Month for September was Graham Hilton.
Graham has been looking after the grounds at Norwich since dinosaurs roamed the earth...almost!
He's indicated that this may be his last season as head groundsman, in which case, it will be a very well earned and well deserved retirement. Having said that, he has had more farewell tours than the Rolling Stones, so we will have to see.
Graham is a very keen golfer so is delighted to accept the round of golf at Barnham Broom. We never had him down as a 'Spa Day' man anyway although afternoon tea for two may have momentarily been considered before returning to the obvious option.
Well done Graham and thank you for all the years of service to the club.
