𝗡𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗴𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘁𝘀 – 2026/27

Due to a number of factors, Nuneaton Rugby Club Colts are unable to run a full team in the 2026-27 season - this is as a result of players moving into employment and education opportunities which aren't compatible with the commitments of Colts Rugby, players choosing to move on and experience the culture at different clubs, senior players moving from Colts to play adult rugby, as well as for other reasons.

The Age Grade and Senior Club Committee are committed to continued Colts Rugby, understanding its position in the Pathway to retain players for the adult game, and are determined to ensure that our 26-27 U16’s have a place to play Colts Rugby at Nuns.

With that in mind, capturing the spirit of the grassroots game and ensuring that those long-standing Nuns players that want to continue playing have that chance - with the support of our Director of Rugby, we have formed a "cluster" with Keresley RFC and potentially other local clubs, who find themselves in similar predicaments this season, to ensure opportunities to play for all that wish to.

This will mean combined training, and friendly matches against other clubs throughout the season.

This is a developing situation for all of the involved clubs and as soon as we have more details and diary dates, we’ll publish these through our usual channels.

The Age Grade Officers want to thank Theo Knight and Phil Llewellyn, as well as the Colts players, parents and management team, for working to ensure a continuation, and a future for our players.

Our fun, friendly and non-contact sessions use games and tag rugby to help children get active and begin learning the basics of the sport.

We’re delighted to welcome Rhys Maloret to Nuneaton Rugby Club.
A powerful tight‑head prop, Rhys joins from Northampton Old Scouts and arrives on a placement year supported by our sponsors CTT Private Client and Bob Massey, Director, former Nuns player and Captain.

Rhys has also represented Cardiff University and was part of the East Midlands U20 squad that won the County Championship last season.

As we wait for confirmation of our preseason games due to the delayed start of the season the players continue to put in hard work to prepare for the new season.

Over the last couple of weeks they have been to Hartshill Hays for a change of venue and scenery as well as working hard at the club ⛰️ 🏃‍♂️
