We’re a small, friendly dive centre with a big focus on doing things properly.

We’re currently looking for 𝗦𝗦𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀, and also welcoming 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 who are open to becoming part of the SSI system as part of the Dive Rutland team.

This is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 — it’s to assist with pool sessions and open water training, supporting our core instructional delivery team.

At Dive Rutland, training isn’t rushed. We spend quality time with every student, ensuring a high standard of education, confidence in the water, and genuine progression in diving skills.

You’ll be working alongside – and supported by – our full-time Instructor Trainer (and boss) Tracey, who will guide and mentor you as part of the team.

To work with us, you’ll need to obtain (if you do not already have) an 𝗛𝗦𝗘 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹, however the cost of t𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 after joining and working with us.

This week’s question came from a wider discussion about diving, travel, and insurance — and it’s an important one.

While standard travel insurance may cover general holiday incidents, it is not always designed for the specific risks associated with scuba diving.

Having been used to diving in warm waters, Barny is now ready to discover everything that 𝗨𝗞 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 has to offer. From fascinating inland sites and historic wrecks to incredible marine life and year-round adventures, a dry suit opens the door to a whole new world beneath the surface. 🌊

The course was a pleasure to teach, and we enjoyed 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 together, with Barny quickly adapting to the skills and techniques needed for comfortable and confident dry suit diving.

Deep diving opens up a whole new world of opportunities, allowing divers to safely explore sites beyond standard recreational depths while understanding the additional planning, equipment considerations, and procedures that come with deeper dives.

Throughout the course, James developed his knowledge of deep dive planning, gas management, buoyancy control, and the physiological effects of increased depth—valuable skills that build confidence and make every dive safer and more enjoyable.
