π A Special Day at Peterlee Cricket Club π
Everyone at Peterlee Cricket Club would like to thank Peter, Billy, all of the players, families and supporters from START who travelled to Peterlee today.
START are the only recovery cricket team in the country, using cricket to support people on their recovery journeys and proving the incredible difference that sport, friendship and community can make. Every person involved with the team should be immensely proud of what they are achieving both on and off the field π
We also want to make special mention of the 11 Peterlee players who took to the field today.
As a club, we couldnβt be prouder. Cricket is about far more than runs, wickets and results, and todayβs game was a perfect example of that. Every player who represented Peterlee did so with respect, sportsmanship and a genuine appreciation of what the occasion meant. They embraced the spirit of the day, helped make everyone feel welcome and played their part in an event that showcased the very best of our club.
Todayβs match was bigger than cricket. It was about community, inclusion and supporting an initiative that is changing lives. The lads who wore the Peterlee shirt today should be incredibly proud of the role they played in making it such a memorable occasion.
An excellent game played in exactly the right spirit, and a day that everyone involved should look back on with pride.

π Tough Result for the 1XI π
A disappointing result as we fall to a 6-wicket defeat, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance. We regroup, learn, and look ahead to the next challenge.

On Sunday morning our Development XI take on Kimblesworth in the George Lincoln Trophy.
This side showcases the strength of our junior section, with a number of young players in the team gaining valuable experience alongside their teammates.
A particularly special milestone today as one of our homegrown juniors Oliver Osborne makes their senior debut β the first of many, we hope.

A huge thank you to Sported Community Projects and the Postcode Lottery for their fantastic support. Their grant has enabled us to purchase new bats and balls for our womenβs team, helping us continue to grow and develop womenβs cricket at Peterlee. ππ
This investment is about so much more than equipment β itβs about creating opportunities, building confidence, and ensuring that women and girls in our community have the chance to play, compete, and be part of a thriving cricket club.
Womenβs cricket is a massive part of our future at Peterlee, and this support will help us welcome new players, improve training sessions, and continue building a strong, successful team.
Weβre incredibly grateful to Sported Community Projects and the Postcode Lottery for helping us invest in the womenβs game and create more opportunities for women and girls to get involved in cricket.
