Clare’s Day

Friday, 17th July, has been designated as “Clare’s Day” to celebrate the life of Clare Milne, who’s legacy, via the Clare Milne Trust, has done so much good here in the South West.
PDSSA Sailability has benefitted enormously from the trust. Our second Drascombe Longboat was purchased with the aid of a substantial grant from that source and we have been fortunate to have received funding to ensure our financial survival. “Clare Milne” is again having a busy season. Under her skipper, Alan Rudge, she has taken out full crews of sailors, who share various handicaps. Our electric/hydraulic hoist has been busy aiding boarding and getting back ashore. Alan has ensured that his crews have special seating where necessary, and he and his crew are all wearing fully automatic life jackets for maximum safety. We are all most grateful to the Clare Milne Trust for helping to make this possible.
