HANDS FREE MAKEUP 😂🙌
Shared from Get Mom Strong for World Breastfeeding Week, and this message deserves to be heard.
She nursed all three of her boys, including well into toddlerhood, and constantly heard the same question:
“You’re still doing that?”
For years, she felt like she had to defend herself with research, health benefits, immune support, gut health, and recommendations.
But the truth is, she never owed anyone an explanation.
“You’re still breastfeeding?”
Yep.
That is a complete answer.
Mothers are judged when they breastfeed. Judged when they use formula. Judged when they pump. Judged when they nurse a toddler. Somehow, no matter what a mother chooses, somebody believes they are entitled to an explanation.
They are not.
Feed your baby in the way that works for your family. Breastfeed for as long as it feels right for you and your child. You will know when your journey is complete.
The female body is incredible. Making milk is incredible. Choosing another feeding method is okay too.
Is your baby loved?
Yep.
Is your baby cared for?
Yep.
Are you doing the best you can?
Yep.
Sometimes that is the only answer anyone deserves. ❤️

Rumer Willis is breastfeeding her 3 year old daughter, and during World Breastfeeding Week, this is exactly the kind of visibility that matters. She recently shared a video nursing Louetta while refusing to apologize to people who judge her parenting.
Because breastfeeding does not suddenly become strange when a child has another birthday.
For some families, breastfeeding lasts weeks. For others, months or years. It may provide milk, comfort, connection, regulation, security, or simply a familiar place to land after a long day.
World Breastfeeding Week is not only about celebrating newborns at the breast. It is about supporting the entire journey, including the parts society still struggles to understand.
You do not have to breastfeed for three years.
You do not even have to understand why another mother does.
You simply have to respect that the decision belongs to the mother and child.
Thank you, Rumer, for showing the world that natural term breastfeeding is still breastfeeding. ❤️

Every other mammal:
🐻 Baby scared? Go to mom. 🐒 Baby tired? Go to mom. 🦊 Baby hungry? Go to mom. 🐘 Baby overwhelmed? Go to mom.
Humans:
"Have you tried teaching your 7-month-old independence?"
😂
Your baby isn't broken for wanting closeness.
And you're not creating bad habits by being their safe place.
You're a mammal raising a mammal.
That's biology.

"I was nervous before going to the appointment that I would be judged for bottle feeding but I couldn't be more wrong. Vicky was so supportive and understanding."
