🏆 WILTSHIRE LEAGUE FINALS DAY AT HIGH POST! ⛳

What a fantastic way to round off the Wiltshire League season! 👏

We were delighted to host the Wiltshire League Finals Day at High Post today, with an excellent turnout of 13 of the 15 league teams coming together for a brilliant day of golf and friendly competition.

🏌️ Individual Pairs Competition

It couldn’t have been much closer, with THREE pairs finishing on an impressive 43 points!

Congratulations to Tom Law & Iain Blood, who claimed 1st place on countback – with the result going all the way to the back 6 holes! 🥇

🏆 Team Competition

But it was home advantage that won the day!

A superb performance from High Post, who took the team title with 121 points (the combined scores of three pairs), once again winning on countback! 🥇

Huge congratulations to Team Captain Kieran and the whole High Post team on a fantastic result – even if Club Captain Anthony managed to steal the glory! 😆🏆

A massive thank you to all the teams who attended and helped make the day such a success. A brilliant atmosphere, some excellent golf and a fitting finale to another Wiltshire League season.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to High Post again soon!

🌱 Our new Vredo seeder is already being put to good use!

We took delivery a couple of weeks ago, with fantastic service and support from Campey Turf Care Systems, and it has already been busy across the course.

This week, the team have completed seeding across all tees and fairways as part of our autumn recovery programme.

The work continues next week, with fairway top dressing from Tuesday, alongside hydroseeding on banks and worn areas around the course that have taken plenty of traffic through the year. We’ll also be hydroseeding the banks around the driving range.

After a long, dry summer, there is plenty to do — but the new Vredo is already proving a very useful addition to the course machinery fleet. 🌱⛳

A great investment by the Club 🙌🏻

🏌️‍♂️ BACK-TO-BACK PROMOTIONS! 🏌️‍♂️

A huge congratulations to the High Post Men’s Scratch Team, who secured promotion back to Division 1 of the Wiltshire Golf League following their final league match of the season on Saturday.

A 2–2 draw away at Ogbourne Downs was enough to secure 2nd place in Division 2 and, despite narrowly missing out on the bonus point, confirm promotion for the second season in a row. 👏

Captain Kieran said:

“Thank you to everyone this year. We’ve proved that we belong in Division 1. So many thanks to everyone who has played their part – whether you played one game or ten, we wouldn’t have got anywhere without all of us.”

A brilliant achievement from Kieran and the entire squad. Back-to-back promotions and back where we belong in Division 1! 💪⛳

We now look forward to hosting the Wiltshire Golf League Finals Day at High Post this Sunday.

Well done, team! 👏

😈 Greenkeepers’ Revenge 2026 😈

What a turnout!

More than 80 members signed up for yesterday’s Greenkeepers’ Revenge, with entry fees and donations raising over £400 for the Junior Section.

A terrific show of support, plenty of laughs and a bit of fun for everyone — Greenkeepers and golfers alike!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and donated, and of course to the Greenkeeping Team for putting together a few suitably “creative” challenges along the way… ⛳️😂

Now we just have to wait and see what they come up with next time… 😈

As well as Course Maintenance Week on the course, it’s been a busy week off the course too! 🚜

Spreading of the topsoil across the driving range is now well underway, with some serious machinery hard at work.

The size of the site really comes across in these photos — even the dump trucks and dozers look like small toys out there!

Another important step forward and one step closer to getting the range back in action. ⛳️

🍂⛳ Autumn Course Maintenance Week – well underway!

After such a long, hot and exceptionally dry summer, it’s almost a relief to finally be able to give the course the autumn maintenance it desperately needs. 🌱

So far, the Course Team have hollow-cored the greens, collars, run-offs and approaches, with all cores collected. Attention is now turning to scarifying and coring the tees, alongside top dressing and brushing to help the surfaces recover and prepare for the months ahead.

There’s plenty more work to come this week, but it’s great to finally be able to push on with the programme after such a challenging summer.

A big thank you to the Course Team for all their hard work — and to our members for their patience while the work continues. 👏⛳

🏆 WINNER! Congratulations Corey! 🇿🇦⛳

A huge congratulations to Corey Sheppard, who has won the BETWAY Big Easy Tour 8 at Benoni Lake Golf Club in South Africa!

Corey fired rounds of 68, 69 and a brilliant final-round 64 to finish 15-under par and secure victory by two shots. 🔥👏

Fantastic to see Corey enjoying success in South Africa — everyone at High Post is incredibly proud of you!

Well played, Corey! 🏆⛳

🏆 Wiltshire County Foursomes Championship 2026 🏆

It was a pleasure to welcome players from across the county to High Post today for the Men’s & Ladies Wiltshire County Foursomes Championships. ⛳

There was some fantastic scoring in both events… but we’re going to allow ourselves to be a little biased and say the performance of the day came from our very own Clare Fanner & Natasha O’Rourke, who completed an incredible double by winning both the Gross and Nett competitions in the Ladies Championship! 🏆🏆👏🏻

A huge congratulations also to Thomas Hyde & Ben Law of Marlborough, who produced a superb performance to complete the Gross and Nett double in the Men’s Championship. 👏🏻🏆

Thank you to everyone who took part, and to all those involved in organising and running the day.

We were also delighted to receive such terrific feedback on both the course and hospitality — a great reflection on everyone involved at High Post. 😄💚💛❤️

Congratulations to all of today’s winners and competitors!
