🏆 White Horse Trophy 2026

What a fantastic occasion today for the annual White Horse Trophy match between the three “Salisbury” clubs — High Post, Salisbury & South Wilts, and Tidworth.

As always, the day was played in a wonderful spirit, with great friendships, sportsmanship and just the right amount of rivalry between the clubs.

In the end, High Post completed the hat-trick — three wins in a row — by the slimmest of margins:

High Post – 32.5 points
Salisbury & South Wilts – 31.5 points
Tidworth – 26 points

A huge well done to all the competitors, and especially to the High Post team, led by Club Captain Anthony Dobson, Ladies Captain Clare Fanner, and their Vice Captains, Bob Knight and Lexie Hope-Lustman.

A brilliant day, a close contest, and another proud moment for High Post.

Captains’ Festival of Golf 2026 ⛳🇬🇧

What a fantastic four days at High Post.

From Thursday’s Lady Captain’s Lunch through to Sunday’s Festival Finale, the 2026 Captains’ Festival of Golf was a wonderful reminder of what makes the Club such a special place.

There was great golf, plenty of laughter, some questionable 80s fashion choices, and above all else, a real sense of community throughout.

A huge thank you to our Captains, members, guests, volunteers, greenkeeping team, bar and catering staff, professional team and everyone else who helped make the Festival such a success.

It was also fantastic to see members support this year’s Captains’ Charity, Salisbury Foodbank, with £460 raised and a generous collection of food donated during Sunday’s Finale.

The Festival was always intended to be about more than golf — and judging by the smiles over the four days, it achieved exactly that.

Thank you to everyone who played, donated, organised, supported and helped make it such a memorable weekend at High Post. 💙

🌟 Good luck, Harry! 🌟

A huge good luck to High Post’s Harry Dickins, who has qualified for Final Qualifying for The 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in 2026.

Harry will be competing at Burnham & Berrow, one of the four Final Qualifying venues, as he looks to secure a place in golf’s original major. What a fantastic achievement already, and another proud moment for High Post Golf Club.

🕗 Round 1: 8.15am

⛳ Captain’s Festival of Golf – Team Finale 🎉

What a fantastic way to bring the Captain’s Festival of Golf to a close!

Today’s Team Finale saw 23 teams take part in an 18-hole “Cha Cha Cha” competition, with a shotgun start at 9.05am.

Most importantly, all players donated £5 plus an item of food in support of Salisbury Food Bank — raising an amazing £460, alongside plenty of much-needed stock thanks to the generosity of our members. 👏🥫

The golf was followed by live music and a BBQ, enjoyed by many in what proved to be a brilliant finale to the Festival. 🎶🍔

Well done to today’s winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who played, donated, volunteered, organised, supported, cooked, served, and helped make the Festival such a success over the last four days — despite some scorching temperatures! ☀️

A fitting end to a fantastic few days at High Post.

🏌️‍♂️ Men’s Captain’s Day – Captains’ Festival of Golf 🏆

A big thank you to everyone who supported the day, and to our Men’s Captain, Anthony Dobson, who hosted a brilliant event — ably “supported” 😉 by Ladies Captain, Clare Fanner.

☀️ Seniors Captain’s Invitational | Captains’ Festival of Golf 2026 ⛳️

What a superb day on the downland for today’s Seniors Captain’s Invitational, forming part of our Captains’ Festival of Golf 2026. 🎉

The day began with bacon rolls and coffee from 7.45am 🥓☕️, before a 9.00am shotgun start for a Texas Scramble, with invited visitor pairs and High Post member pairs teamed together for a fantastic day of golf, fun and friendship. 🤝

There was plenty to enjoy out on the course, including the Greenkeepers’ Revenge Challenge on the 12th 🌱, the Hickory Challenge on the par-3 8th 🪵, and the “Can You Beat The Gallows?” challenge across High Post’s infamous three-hole finishing stretch. 💀⛳️

After more than four hours out in the heat — or, to put it another way, after spending the morning in an oven 🥵🔥 — a two-course carvery was exactly what the doctor ordered! 🍽️

A wonderful day of golf, laughter, great food, good company, and even a birthday celebration thrown in for good measure. 🎂

A huge thank you to all our visitors and members who took part, our Greenkeepers, F&B team, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. 👏

Fab FAB day today to kick off the 4-day Captains’ Festival of Golf at High Post Golf Club ⛳️

46 ladies celebrating Lady Captain’s Day - part 1 - “the lunch”. With the heatwave 🥵 in full force the golf bit was postponed, but the social and luncheon went full steam ahead.

🍾 Pre lunch Sparkling wine, Pimms and elderflower fizz were enjoyed before a gorgeous salmon or chicken main course, followed by strawberries & cream or sticky toffee pudding 🍓😋

Excellent food, brilliant company and a joy to bring the ladies together to celebrate. The gift of cooling towels from the Lady Captain Clare Fanner to all guests was very well received! A brilliant day 🥂🥳🤩

Tomorrow the seniors will be out in full force, on Saturday it’s the Men and Juniors and then on Sunday we have the Festival Finale for all members, with team golf, a live band, a BBQ and a few other surprises 🎉⛳️😎🥰
