Job Opportunity: Mobile CAP Tested Engineer

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Mobile CAP Tested Engineer to join our team based from our Rotherham depot.

1 Up Access is a leading supplier of access equipment, providing high-quality solutions to customers across the UK. Operating from our purpose-built depot in Rotherham, we run a modern fleet of industry-leading machines and are committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers.

As a Mobile CAP Tested Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet. You will be responsible for carrying out CAP inspections, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of access equipment both on customer sites and at our depot.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out CAP inspections in accordance with industry standards
• Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of access equipment
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Complete all inspection reports and service documentation accurately
• Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality
• Represent the company professionally when attending customer sites
• Work closely with the engineering and operations teams to maintain fleet availability

Essential Requirements
• Current CAP certification
• Experience working on access equipment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively

Desirable Requirements
• IPAF qualification
• Manufacturer training on leading access platforms
• Experience working in a mobile engineering role

1 Up Access is a leading supplier of access equipment, providing high-quality solutions to customers across the UK. Operating from our purpose-built depot in Rotherham, we run a modern fleet and pride ourselves on delivering a reliable and professional service to our customers.

As part of our transport team, you will be responsible for the safe delivery and collection of access equipment from customer sites across the region and beyond. You will be representing the company on site, so professionalism, safety, and excellent customer service are essential.

Key Responsibilities
• Safely and efficiently operate Class 1 or Class 2 HGV vehicles
• Deliver and collect access equipment from customer sites
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
• Ensure compliance with all driver hours regulations and transport legislation
• Liaise with customers, site contacts, and the transport team to ensure smooth deliveries and collections
• Maintain high standards of professionalism when representing the company

Essential Requirements
• Valid Class 1 or Class 2 HGV Licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Tachograph Card
• Good understanding of transport compliance and driver hours regulations
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Desirable Requirements
• Experience within the access, plant hire, or construction industries
• IPAF certification, although training can be provided for the right candidates
• Experience loading, securing, and transporting plant or access equipment
