That’s a wrap on the 2025/2026 season!! The ladies finish 9th overall after battling through enough injuries that would sell out a pharmacy 🤣 The girls should be immensely proud of themselves for all their efforts and hard work this season 🧡🖤

Player of the Month | April

Congratulations to our Player of the Month for the final time this season, Maisie Ferris, sponsored by Jack's Tracks !! 🧡🖤

Maisie has thoroughly earned this month’s recognition with her outstanding determination and relentless hard work. Stepping up to play in a more advanced role over the past few games, she has adapted brilliantly—taking to the position like a duck to water.

Her tireless running and commitment have been vital in pushing Handsworth forward, and her energy on the pitch has been a joy to watch. Maisie has consistently been a thorn in the side of every team we’ve faced, causing problems with her movement, work rate, and attacking intent.

To cap off a fantastic month, she scored a stunning goal in our last game—smashing the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle, a moment of real quality that perfectly sums up her impact.

Well done, Maisie 👏

Match Day #24 |

Handsworth travelled to Frickley for their final game of the season with a heavily patched-up squad but produced a battling performance full of determination and spirit.

Frickley started the brighter of the two sides, controlling much of the early play and taking the lead within the opening 15 minutes. There were strong appeals for offside, but this was waved away. Moments later, the hosts doubled their advantage — again amid protests for another offside call that wasn’t given. From that point onwards, Handsworth grew into the game, showing real fight and composure. They dominated possession for the remainder of the first half, pushing Frickley back and creating several half-chances before the break.

The second half was almost entirely one-way traffic as Handsworth piled on the pressure. Constant attacking waves saw Frickley’s goalkeeper make several excellent saves, while the woodwork twice came to their rescue. With 15 minutes remaining, Handsworth’s persistence finally paid off when Maisie smashed a brilliant strike from a tight angle into the roof of the net to pull a goal back. The visitors continued to press, and Kim came agonisingly close to equalising with a late header that was cleared off the line in the final moments.

Despite the narrow defeat, the performance was packed with positives — especially considering the number of injuries in the squad. It was a display full of heart, teamwork, and resilience to round off the season. 👏

Congratulations to our Players of the Match, Kim Hardman (sponsored by Football Fun Factory) and Justice Dior Greaves (sponsored by Noahs Ark intake) 🧡🖤

Despite carrying an injury, Kim delivered an outstanding performance. She defended brilliantly throughout the match, consistently dealing with long balls over the top and making crucial interventions at the back. Her presence was also felt in the opposition box during set pieces, where she caused real problems — even coming close to scoring, with one effort cleared off the line. A resilient and determined display.

Justice was exceptional from start to finish, putting in a true box-to-box performance in midfield. She broke up play effectively, regained possession, and drove the team forward with purpose. Her ability to create chances and influence the game at both ends of the pitch was clear throughout. Just as importantly, her determination and encouragement lifted her teammates, making her impact even greater. An outstanding all-round performance.

Match Day #24 |

Handsworth travelled to Staveley for a tough midweek fixture, with the squad stretched due to injuries and several players featuring despite not being fully fit.

The game began slowly for Handsworth, and they were quickly on the back foot, finding themselves 3–0 down within the first ten minutes. A change in formation helped settle things, allowing Handsworth to grow into the game and regain some control. However, just before the break, Staveley were awarded a penalty, extending their lead to 4–0 at half-time.

At the start of the second half, Handsworth were forced into a further change as our goalkeeper picked up an injury. Molly stepped up to take the gloves and produced an excellent performance between the posts.

The second half saw a much-improved Handsworth side, who showed great determination and spirit, taking control for large spells. Molly was called into action on several occasions and did superbly to prevent Staveley from adding to their tally. Up front, Maisie proved a constant threat, causing problems and panic in the Staveley defence. As the game progressed, the commitment of the squad was clear to see, with Amy, Kim, Paige, Eden, and others battling through pain and fatigue, giving everything for the team.

Despite the 4–0 defeat, Handsworth can take real positives from their performance after a difficult start, showing resilience, character, and quality in the second half.

Congratulations to our Players of the Match, Molly Elliott (sponsored by Happy Acres Allotments) and Maisie Ferris (sponsored by Jack's Tracks) 🧡🖤

Molly Elliott delivered a fantastic all-round performance, stepping up for the team in multiple positions when it was needed most. In the first half, she was asked to drop into midfield to help settle the game’s tempo, where she showed composure and awareness on the ball. She was then moved out to the right, where she impressed with her forward runs and willingness to support both attack and defence.

In the second half, Molly was called upon to take on the goalkeeper role due to injury, and she rose to the challenge brilliantly. She produced a solid display between the posts, making several important saves to prevent Staveley from extending their lead.

A true team player who never let the side down—well done, Molly 🖤🧡

Maisie put in a tireless performance leading the line, proving to be a constant threat to the Staveley defence throughout the game. Her movement, footwork, and confidence on the ball allowed her to take on defenders and create opportunities for both herself and her teammates.

She linked play well with intelligent passing and never stopped working, showing real determination and drive to push Handsworth forward, even in difficult moments.

A strong and committed performance—well done, Maisie 🧡🖤

Player of the Month | March

Congratulations to our Player of the Month for March, Eden Wilcox, sponsored by Noahs Ark intake 🧡🖤

Eden has delivered a series of outstanding performances over the past month and has been a real asset to the team. She has been asked to step into several different positions across the pitch, often at short notice, and has approached every role with confidence, determination, and a positive mindset.

No matter where she has been played, Eden has consistently given 100% effort. Her work rate, commitment, and willingness to put the team first have been clear for everyone to see. She has never allowed her standards to drop, showing great consistency in both training and matches.

What has stood out most is her attitude. It is never easy to adapt to multiple positions, but Eden has embraced every challenge without hesitation or complaint. She has shown maturity, resilience, and a strong team ethic, always supporting her teammates and leading by example.

Eden’s versatility has been invaluable, and her performances have made a real difference to the team over the last month. She should be very proud of her efforts and the way she has conducted herself both on and off the pitch.

Well done, Eden, on a thoroughly well-deserved Player of the Month award, keep up the fantastic work!!! 🧡🖤

Match Day #23 |

In our final home game of the season, we were determined to finish on a high with a strong performance. Despite ongoing challenges with injuries and illness throughout the squad, the ladies showed great spirit and were fully up for the occasion.

The game began evenly, with both sides creating opportunities in the opening 20 minutes. Our goalkeeper, Abbie, was called into action early on and made a couple of excellent saves to keep things level. As the first half progressed, Handsworth began to take control of the game, even striking the crossbar during a sustained spell of pressure.

The breakthrough came after a well-worked move, with Sam setting up Ella Bright, who calmly slotted home to give Handsworth the lead. Pushed on by the goal, we continued to press and create further chances. The second goal was the highlight of the match—a superb team move starting with a clearance from Abbie. Molly showed great determination to win her battle and flick the ball on to Sam, who, with one touch, played a perfectly timed pass into Maisie. She finished confidently to double the lead—an outstanding passage of play from back to front.

In the second half, Handsworth maintained their momentum and continued to push forward. Kate was unlucky not to add a third goal, narrowly missing at the back post after a fantastic delivery into the box from Maisie.

The game concluded with a deserved victory for Handsworth, capping off our final home fixture of the season in positive fashion.

We wish Dinnington all the very best for their remaining games

Congratulations to our 2 Player’s of the Match this week, Amy Homans (sponsored by Noahs Ark intake) and Paige Marples (sponsored by S FE Solutions)
!!! 🧡🖤

Amy delivered a very strong performance, consistently winning her one-on-one battles. She made key decisions in difficult situations and showed excellent composure under pressure. Her footwork stood out, as she didn’t just clear the ball but was confident and capable of playing it out from the back, helping maintain possession for the team.

Paige faced a tough challenge on the right but handled it brilliantly, never allowing her attacker to get the better of her. She remained composed under pressure, distributing the ball effectively with both long and short passes down the wing. In addition, she showed great awareness and confidence by pushing up the field to break up opposition attacks.

Well done, girls!!!

Match Day #23 |

Handsworth put in a strong and determined performance in the first half, matching Barnsley across the pitch with some impressive passages of play. Despite their efforts and positive attacking intent, they found themselves trailing 1–0 at the break, a scoreline that didn’t fully reflect their contribution.

In the second half, Barnsley raised the intensity and began to take control of the game. Their increased pressure proved difficult for Handsworth to contain, and they capitalised on their chances to extend their lead. As the half progressed, Barnsley’s momentum carried them to the win.

Congratulations to our Player of the Match, sponsored by Margo & Friends, Ella Bright !!! 🧡🖤

Ella delivered an outstanding individual performance. Her work rate was relentless throughout, consistently chasing down the opposition to break up play. Strong in the tackle and positive in possession, she played a key role in driving Handsworth forward into attacking positions. From the first whistle to the last, she gave a full shift and was a standout performer on the pitch. Well done, Ella 🧡🖤
