PLAYER OF THE MONTH | SEPTEMBER

Congratulations to our Player of the Month for September, Scarlett McKenna, sponsored by Hallam Tiles & Bathrooms Ltd !! 🧡🖤

To say that Scarlett has never played Open Age football before this season would surprise anyone who has watched her play. The majority of games, she has been a contender for Player of the Match as she has consistently shown an amazing work rate on and off the ball. Not to mention her blistering pace to beat the opposition in attack, and her strong and fiery tackles to help defend. She is another excellent example of the pathway into women’s football, and she has settled in tremendously well. Well deserved, Scarlett 🫶

MATCH DAY #4 | RESULT

Unlucky not to come out with all 3 points but we go again next week! 🧡🖤

PLAYER OF THE MATCH:

Congratulations to our Player of the Match, Roxanne Reid, sponsored by AB Graphics LTD 🧡🖤

Once again Rox showed tremendous leadership and patience in the midfield today. It wasn’t the easiest or prettiest of jobs stopping the oppositions attacks, but she put her all into getting it done. She was strong in tackles when she needed to, covered every blade of grass and never complained whilst doing so. Well done, Rox 🫶

MATCH DAY #4 | RESULT

A game where the scoreline doesn’t reflect the performance at all. We were short on players and that meant most played the full 90 after 3 games in 1 week, but everyone left everything they had on the pitch🧡🖤

PLAYER OF THE MATCH:

Congratulations to our Player of the Match, Vicky Fearn 🧡🖤

Vicky is consistently a stand out player when she puts the Handsworth shirt on. She absolutely dominates midfield and her work rate is immense, coming back to defend and also pushing forward, creating opportunities for herself and others. She is strong in tackles and more often than not is victorious in 1 on 1 battles. Great vision, unbelievable energy, and technically brilliant - the full package. Well done, Vicky 🫶

MATCH DAY #3 | RESULT

Defeat away from home against a well established Stocksbridge side. Well done to all the girls for fighting until the final whistle 🧡🖤

PLAYER OF THE MATCH:

Congratulations to our Player of the Match, Emily Rodgers 🧡🖤

Emily was up against some highly-skilled Stocksbridge strikers, but she didn’t let this affect her game. She used her pace to recover and track players, cutting out many of the opposition’s attacks. Her distribution going forwards was brilliant, often making runs down the line to help the team progress up the pitch, and creating a few chances. Although it wasn’t the result we wanted, Emily was a vital part of keeping the score line to a minimum. Well done, Em!!
