Darnall Diamonds VS SUJB U10s

Another dominant performance 💙⚽️

As a coach, the scoreline is great, and the boys were brilliant to watch at times. But if I'm being honest, I felt we were a little sluggish today. Our energy levels weren't quite where I expected them to be, especially compared to Tuesday evening.

Against better teams, we might come up short if we don't bring that extra intensity, energy and hunger. But maybe I'm being a little harsh on the boys because, after the game, a Sheffield United scout came up to us and asked if we'd be interested in coming to play against them one Monday evening.

He said we were one of the best teams he's seen play and that we have some amazing talent. His words, not mine! 😅🙌

So maybe I need to give the boys a bit more credit because clearly we're doing something right! 😂💙

Hosting Crosspool at home this morning… turned out to be a game of 2 halves with our Gk missing it was always going to be a challenge… the boys started on the back foot not able to find the normal rhythm and routine… credit to Crosspool they put us under pressure and found the early lead… our boys pushed themselves to the final whistle and scoring some well deserved goals along the way… we wish Crosspool the best for the rest of the season.

Darnall Diamonds 4–5 Rotherham School Boys U10s
⏱️ 3 x 20-minute quarters

Honestly, this is the best I’ve ever seen these boys play. From the first minute right through to the last, they never stopped running, fighting and competing. We matched Rotherham every step of the way — and at times, we were the better team. 👏🔥

🔵 1st Quarter

Darnall 2–1 Rotherham

The boys came out flying, putting Rotherham under pressure from the start and playing some really good football. We didn’t allow them to create much and took our chances when they came.

We could have gone in 2–0 up, but Rotherham pulled one back late from a free kick. Still, it was a dominant performance from the boys and they deserved all the credit. 💪

🔵 2nd Quarter

Darnall 0–3 Rotherham

Again, the boys battled and fought for everything. Rotherham were just too strong in this quarter and managed to take their chances.

We also had a few chances ourselves that we couldn't quite convert, but Izak stepped up massively, making some important saves and keeping the scoreline respectable. 🧤👏

🔵 3rd Quarter

Darnall 2–1 Rotherham

This was an absolutely exciting quarter to watch! 🔥

With Ethan up top and using his lightning pace, he put the press on from the very start and really set the tempo.

The boys showed just how fit they are, and Rotherham simply couldn't cope with the pressure and chance after chance coming their way.

Their goalkeeper made some excellent saves to keep it at 2–1, and credit to him because without those saves the score could have been very different.

But the biggest thing for me was seeing these boys believe they belong at this level. They competed, worked for each other and showed exactly what they're capable of. 👏💙

⭐ Overall

Rotherham just had the edge where it mattered — the goals.

But in terms of running, fighting, competing and giving everything for the badge, Darnall were right there with them and, at times, outplayed them.

The boys should be incredibly proud of themselves. So should the coaches. 💎💙

DD 💎 U7 Blues

The boys playing there first Leauge game today after a great pre season the boys continued their great run of games, starting to play some good football ⚽️ well trying 🤣.

The boys hosted Hoyland Falcons blues at home today.

Both teams finding early goals but it was Zayd who took the team into a firing zone scoring a quick 4 goals 🙌 followed by izzy who put another ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ in.

Well done boys we move on to next week were we know we have a tough test ahead of us vs Outabridge a team with elite pre academy players 🙌💪.
