He did it, and in some style!
Sam Peasegood, Hallamshire's Junior Captain, sailed around the golf course and played 72 holes yesterday in a very rapid 9 and a half hours, including breaks for a few bacon butties. That is little more than 2 hours for each 18 holes! He offered to do this challenge as part of his year as Junior Captain of our club, with all funds raised in support of this year's Captains Charity, Emmaus.
He was assisted on his rounds by groups of Hallamshire members, who ball spotted, trolley pulled and bunker raked, all in support of Sam's efforts. Whilst Sam had set a target of raising at least £1,000 for Emmaus, it is already clear that his total will now exceed £2,000. A stunning effort indeed! Huge congratulations Sam!
And if you missed the event or would like to top up his achievements, please feel free to chip in via his JustGiving fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/page/sam-peasegood-challenge-72

Will Hawksworth is our Club Champion again! This year he won it by an incredible 12 shots from the rest of the field, with superb rounds of 66 & 69 in seriously windy conditions, so this demonstrated just what a class act he is… Captain Charles was there to congratulate him at the end 🏆👏🏻👏🏻

Junior Captain's Day was a great success yesterday! There was a fantastic turnout, with 40 juniors taking part in stunning weather. Afterwards Junior Captain Sam Peasegood presented prizes from the generous prize table, with the winning AM-AM team scoring 97 points! A pizza van then provided food, so thanks to everyone who supported a memorable day at Hallamshire ⛳️🍕😃
