Something bigger is coming for South Essex.

Over the past year, through SOS Combatives CIC, we’ve worked alongside charities, community organisations and local stakeholders delivering practical, reality-based personal safety education across the community.

One thing has become clear:

There is a growing need for more honest conversations around community safety, public resilience, violence prevention, and the “reality gap” between confidence and capability to deal with real-world violence.

That’s why we are now exploring plans for the inaugural:

South Essex Community Safety Summit

A collaborative event bringing together councillors, charities, youth organisations, safeguarding professionals, emergency services, community leaders and local stakeholders to discuss practical approaches to community safety and public resilience.
The event will include:

• Guest speakers
• Live demonstrations
• Educational presentations
• Networking opportunities
• Collaborative discussion on future community safety initiatives in South Essex

We are currently seeking potential partners, supporters and organisations interested in being involved.

Protect yourself. Empower others.

This isn’t a fitness class.
This isn’t martial arts.

This is real-world self-protection.

Most women are never shown what violence actually looks and feels like — until it’s too late. We’re changing that.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
Recognise danger early (before it escalates)
Set boundaries with confidence
Understand how real assaults unfold
Respond under pressure — not freeze
All taught through simple, principle-led training designed for real life — not the gym.

⚠️ Limited spaces available
🎯 No experience needed
💜 Proceeds support a local cause

If you’ve ever thought “what would I actually do?” — this is your chance to find out.

We’re open to working with local authorities and community safety teams to reach people who need this training most.

But let’s be clear…

SOS Combatives CIC doesn’t dilute reality.

We don’t soften the message.
We don’t create false confidence.
And we don’t pretend violence is something it’s not.

If we’re going to be part of the solution, the training has to stay real, pressure-tested, and honest

Because when it matters…

“soft touch” doesn’t save people.

Protect yourself. Empower others.
