Well done to all my athletes who competed yesterday some solid performances.
Highlight of the day amongst all the excellent performances was probably Will with a 10 cm pb clearing 1.80 and only just missing 1.85!!!
Video attached.
Well done Will - I’m so happy for you 🏆
Well done all athletes you smashed it.

Well done to Tia yesterday in the EYAL, another 5m jump to win the long jump in the EYAL fixture at StoneX.
So close to clearing 1.50m in High Jump, had to settle for 1.45m.
Followed by triple jump consistently over 10.25m now.
A great stadium to compete at.
Busy day yesterday.
Running long jump and high jump camps both well attended. It was very hot, but the athletes stayed hydrated with good rest periods and they all did really well.
Followed by a 1:1 high jump session and 2x 1:1 with 800m runners preparing them for this Sunday’s competition💪🏻.
I did have a break where I took my own son to football 😃
Well done to all athletes 🏆
Full on day today …
Working with a county cricket player, followed by a lad getting ready for 2nd day of testing for Saracens (rugby). Both these lads on different, but similar pathways in their respective sports - speed and agility focussed.
Sprints (block starts) and high jump with a young multi eventer.
Group high jump session, numbers going back up 9 today, lastly a long jump session, with a bit of high jump to finish.
Well done all athletes.
Some improvements are not completely linear trajectory, and sometimes not even a stop watch nor tape measure tells the whole story. A good coach should have that coaches eye to see it and be able to guide accordingly. 🏆
Nice 1:1 with an over 50’s athlete just looking to see where they’re at.
I think surprising themselves along the way - sometimes age is just a number and shouldn’t hinder you giving things a go.
Obviously longer and slower warm ups and more recovery time is required, but making some very nice progress. 👏🏻💪🏻🏆
Long/triple jump, high jump group sessions last night - high jump numbers climbing again.
A few faces back from holiday - good to see you all.
Plus some short approach work with Tia in long and triple jump.
Today my son was back playing football with his team and Tia doing some S&C, now I have a rare Saturday afternoon to myself!!!!
Well done to all athletes this week 🏆
Camp today running a group Long jump then a group high jump, followed by a couple of 1:1’s One speed/mid distance prep and another long jump session.
Lastly took my own son for football training ⚽️
Had a fun day 😃
Long day coaching today.
A great couple of 1:1 high jump sessions, a group speed based session, group long jump session and a 1:1 speed session with Thomas to finish the day where we worked on block acceleration followed by him hitting some pb territory in the flying 30m testing 👏🏻
Well done all 🏆
Busy day yesterday:
Coaching high level football player - young lady’s speed is improving;
Coaching a brother and sister - speed and long jumps - both technically improving;
Rugby player - working on speed and agility - Saracens testing coming up - keeping on track;
Cricket player - very nice to see this young man again - playing for Essex under 16’s - it’s been just over a year since we last worked together, dealing with a different athlete now growth and strength has kicked in - far better coordinated and speed. Look forward to helping this lad on next chapter will be continuing to work on speed and agility, amongst other things;
2 high jumps group sessions to finish the day with only about 6 in each group and a few pb’s 🏆
It’s nice being able to work with athletes across a range of sports (some at the top of their game or working hard to reach), there are many parallels and learnings to be had across team sports underpinned by athletics: running, throwing and jumping.
An interesting and fun afternoon coaching.
Just been coaching a 50 plus year old male who has not been on the track for over 30 plus years, has kept himself in shape and worked hard through the session. I was pleasantly surprised of his capability - sometimes age is just a number.
Opposite end of the spectrum then coached super talented brothers aged 8 and 13 - with the boys hitting some sprint times anyone would be proud of!!!!
Great work all 👏🏻💪🏻🏆
