Friday 24th July 1/24

This Friday was the turn of the big cars, a relatively open class with the main rule that the cars are 1/24!

As can be seen in the picture the top three were using GT3 type cars.

Alex took the top honors once again with a convincing lead.

Dean came in second

Devon came in third.

I cant do much of a report as I was busy trying to get some pace out of my ancient BRM Megane, so old I had to borrow a set of rear wheels and tyres to stop the car drifting on the straight, never mind the corners!!

Turnout was a little low for what is one of the closest classes at North Staffs. This was probable because the club was that hot Satan is thinking of using it as a holiday home!

Alex was back on form taking another win, I firmly believe that just being better than everyone else should be counted as cheating and they should be disqualified! To be fair though in one heat young Archie was staying with him and Alex was finding him difficult to catch. Ultimately Archie's raw pace wasn't a match for Alex's consistency.

Dean came in second even after a track issue while running on yellow. He declined the entitled rerun of the the lane though as it didn't cost him six laps and it wouldn't have changed the race positions anyway.

Mark came in third and the results make him look close to Dean, however if Dean hadn't have had a track issue the distance would have been significantly greater.

Next week is Formula 1.....lets hope the temperature comes down otherwise we will all have take the soft tyres off and change to hard!

26th June - Slot.it DTM

Well it was a hot one! Turnout was on the light side probably due to this but the in reality the club room wasn't too bad.

Alex returned his speedy best to dominate in his first heat after his rare mechanical issue last week, and show us all how its done. However this was short lived and he started to have issues again (possibly motor failure) and made the decisions to retire from the evening as the issue was causing power surges and deslots. He then decided just to marshal (NO REFUNDS).

Chris K had steady, consistent runs letting get to a well deserved third place.

Mark W thought he may have had a chance with Alex's retirement and Deans offs in the earlier heats, but in the end he was beaten by just under one lap.

Dean H came first capitalising on Alex's retirement as well to get top points for this round.

Next week GT3 (to GT3 National rules) I'm pretty sure Alex will be keen not to make three mechanical issues in a row......
